Skyrim talk:Krosis (creature)

Giant tactics paragraphEdit

That's a bit OTT, no? Plus it lacks formatting, proper grammar and contains a lot of anomalous/subjective information - please stop rolling back my changes. :( Tentacle 07:49, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

conjured creaturesEdit

he can also turn your conjured creatures against you. — Unsigned comment by 68.0.179.40 (talk) at 00:01 on 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Worse yet, conjuring other creatures won't negate the one that has already turned — Unsigned comment by 24.192.223.13 (talk) at 19:37 on 11 December 2011
Confirmed on PC; he'll eventually get around to turning your conjures. Summon them a distance away--they're most useful in distracting him from using his staff's spells. I found the best path was to conjure your Atronach and stumble him Firebolts. Kronis spawned with a Staff of Fireballs, so I countered with a Flame Atronach. --67.248.246.4 16:00, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
does NOT turn Dremora against you, if cast from the Sanguine Rose.— Unsigned comment by 71.185.204.101 (talk) at 15:16 on 15 March 2012
I was fighting him last night, and he repeatedly turned my Dremora from the Sanguine Rose against me, so I don't think this statement can be right. Sorry, don't yet know how to sign my post. — Unsigned comment by 174.239.224.85 (talk) at 17:54 on 23 January 2013
You can sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~), or by using the signature button at the top of the edit screen (when you hover over it, it says "Your signature with timestamp"). — ABCface 21:36, 23 January 2013 (GMT)

DragonEdit

First time I ran into him a random Dragon happened to attack at the same time. It was a pretty brutal fight until I realized I should let them bash it out between themselves. all in all it made the fight a lot easier letting them nearly kill each other. — Unsigned comment by 134.153.7.121 (talk) at 14:54 on 19 December 2011

Tactics / Guide?Edit

I'm having a great deal of trouble fighting Krosis using my archer, even on Novice difficulty. I'm sure any good tips would be appreciated to others having trouble with Krosis. Any suggestions?--Shm0key 16:01, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Uh, I hid behind a rock and shot him a few times, then healed, then shot him etc. --92.19.111.35 20:57, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Use "Marked for Death". I do it against every boss/dragon, it makes fighting Alduin seem like a cake job. Most useful shout in the game, in my opinion 82.243.194.53 17:27, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
I concur, at least in this case. I hit Krosis with "Marked for Death" twice, and then jumped him on the slope with a couple of enchanted daggers. He seemed to get jammed up against a rock facing away from me and I was able to slash him to death without him being able to hit back. It was a bit of a trick finding his mask, though, since his corpse went bouncing down the slope a ways. 174.6.51.17 02:45, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
Your best bet is to have J'zargo accompany you (You have to do his quest in the College of Winterhold), he uses Sparks so he steadily drains Krosis' magika Kaaldutoor 15:59, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
I used the Sanguine Rose. As a rogue, I need to get up close and personal, and this was the only way I could keep him from running away and blasting me from afar with fireballs. He was tougher than the Elder Dragon...— Unsigned comment by 71.185.204.101 (talk) at 15:18 on 15 March 2012
My archers tend to have some kind of melee backup. So I recommend just rushing his ass like I do every dragon priest. Otherwise they move around a lot while casting, difficult for an archer.-Zydrate[][] 01:25, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

() Hey, I didn't see this anywhere, but I just beat this on master difficulty. I started off fighting the dragon, which was pretty difficult. At some point he took off to fly and then it looked like he crashed onto the ground. When I ran over he and Krosis were fighting each other. I let this drag on for a bit and finishing off them both was "relatively" easy. On an easier setting, if this works, I imagine it would be cake. Dragons and Dragon Priests aren't supposed to fight each others. Nahkriin doesn't attack the dragons at Skuldafn, I don't know why Krosis would do so. 82.243.194.53 21:13, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Easter Egg?Edit

Anyone think that the name of this dragon priest could be a reference to Crosis, the Purger from Magic: The Gathering? http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=270140 83.161.241.251 16:06, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

-also could be from star trek TNG, in the episodes with Lore his main borg commander is called "krosis", seems pretty unlikely and could be that one of the writes on TNG liked the purger you mentioned--Lord.Baal (talk) 03:37, 28 July 2013 (GMT)

I let him looseEdit

My companion and I were fighting the Dragon while Crosis was locked on Shadowmare. They were a good match and slowly drifted down the hill. When the Dragon died they were completely out of sight. I found them again but it was in the middle of Giant's camp. When the Giant and the Mammoth were defeated the horse and the Dragon Priest were not to be found. Shadowmare reappeared after fast travelling. So, beware. It roams Skyrim now. --Breton the Conjurer 08:52, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

ParthurnaaxEdit

When Parthurnaax uses the word "Krosis" (sorrow), he is often using it as an apology for his digression. He also uses it to express sympathy for the difficulties facing the player. All in all, it seems like he uses it much like we would say "sorry." — Unsigned comment by Varus2319 (talkcontribs) at 09:27 on 16 April 2012

Player-specific Combat TipsEdit

moved from article:

  • Due to his close proximity to a Word Wall, he can make clearing Shearpoint obscenely difficult if caution is not applied when fighting the Dragon. An easy way to defeat Krosis is to lure him to the edge of the cliff and try to knock him off. If successful, he will not be able to make his way back up and the spells from his staff will not be able to reach the player, allowing the player to slowly pick him off with arrows. Another way is to get distance and shoot an arrow at the Dragon, this will isolate Krosis and the Dragon. Kill the Dragon and then deal with Krosis. One more way for low-level players is to find a waist-high barrier and stand a few feet behind it, as he tends to shoot fireballs at the player below the belt. Another way to make the fight easier is to start the dragon hunting quest from Esbern (must complete Rebuilding The Blades first) and continue until the quest brings you to Shearpoint. This allows for 3 additional followers to fight Krosis. Awake Krosis right after you kill the dragon and before the other Blades leave.

I've just removed this whole paragraph from the article for several reasons. First, the article is about the creature Krosis, and all of the tips are related to fighting both Krosis and the dragon at the same time. So, if these tips belong on any article, they belong on the Shearpoint page itself, not here. Also, most of these tips are pretty generic when you get down to it-- lure the creature somewhere out of reach and attack from a distance, use a barrier to evade attacks, or bring followers to help. These tips apply to countless enemies and locations in the game.

If we're going to have any tips listed on this page (and I do think tips would be helpful, as Krosis/Shearpoint can be difficult for many players), the tips which are listed should be specific to Krosis. Information about his fighting style, or how to nullify attacks which he specifically uses would be helpful, as long as they are not generic, but specific to him. For instance, in the removed paragraph, the bit about him shooting fireballs below the belt would be probably work if it's confirmed that this is something that happens often with him (I can't particularly remember if he shot me 'below the belt' or elsewhere). — ABCface 18:26, 27 September 2012 (GMT)
