CC spawned Dragons give no souls

I used the Console Command to spawn a dragon at my location, but when I killed it, it had loot, but no soul. Is this normal? — Unsigned comment by 76.4.25.235 (talk) at 03:32 on 28 December 2012 (GMT)

No, it's not normal, due to the fact that you used the console to bypass normal game mechanics. --Xyzzy Talk 14:12, 15 August 2013 (GMT)
Using CC is not relevant: I've tested this between different saves and one save that consistently have the problem of dragon giving no souls is the only one where CC spawned dragons gives no soul: the rest will still give souls even from CC spawned dragons. In fact, I think the bug can spread from one corrupted save to another as after I loaded the problematic save when I load another save that used to be ok the problem appears in that save, but when I open the problem save, exit the game, open another save without the problem, the save remains to have no problems. So short answer: no, it is not normal and should go under the "no dragon soul" bug. 121.44.134.195 06:08, 25 August 2013 (GMT)
The info you are providing would be considered research into the cause of this bug, not a new bug or an addition to the bug entry on the page. Research on a bug belongs here on the talk page rather than in the article.
This is a particularily tricky bug that nobody has been able to definitively determine the cause of. Your experience with dragons spawned with the console is interesting, though. There may be some script that is still running in the background on that save, or some global variable that is preventing you from absorbing the soul. --Xyzzy Talk 15:39, 27 August 2013 (GMT)

Legendary and Revered Dragons Possible at Level 50

Um. Can somebody fix this wiki? both Legendary and Revered dragons are possible to find at level 50, just very rare and only in the wild (Like on the road)... The level "78" and "59?" thing are only for Dragon Dens... Out in the wild though, they are findable.

I mean, there's enough proof that it is like this on Xbox, PC, and PS3... So why not fix it on the wiki? Especially for Achievement Hunters? — Unsigned comment by 172.129.62.149 (talk) at 06:17 on 15 August 2013

Nowhere on the wiki does it say it's impossible to find them before the levels listed. The article gives information for regular leveled lists, which are the most common encounters. Please read the numerous archived topics on this for more details. — ABCface 06:20, 15 August 2013 (GMT)
Since there was nothing that I could find in the article stating this, I added a little blurb. Seems worth mentioning even if we don't have full details. --Xyzzy Talk 14:12, 15 August 2013 (GMT)
I have a CK request that's been sitting for a while on this topic. --Morrolan (talk) 21:30, 22 September 2013 (GMT)
I have just encountered a legendary dragon in the wild (at level 60). I understand that it is not impossible to find them before the "levelled list" level (which is stated as 78 for the legendary dragon), but I find it confusing/misleading. I looked for the "numerous archived topics" on this, but couldn't find them. I also looked in the levelled lists article and couldn't find anything relevant there either. While I accept that what might be written is correct, I still think this could be somehow better indicated. Thanks. 128.214.173.46 14:19, 6 February 2014 (GMT)

() What's confusing about "Note that although the different varieties of dragon normally start to appear at the player level indicated, it is possible, though rare, to encounter a more powerful dragon at a much lower level."? The only thing I see that could be an issue is that this little tidbit is buried in a paragraph, but I don't really think it warrants any more emphasis, as it's not game breaking. --Xyzzy Talk 14:54, 6 February 2014 (GMT)

The trouble is, that legendary dragons are only used by the leveled list LCharDragonAny (*Dragon07* there), and nothing else - unlike other stuff, here the list is the only source. So we may have a fundamental problem in understanding what "level" means in a leveled list. Exactly how often is the level ignored? By how many levels? According to the CK wiki a reference to that list at "very hard" should produce legendary dragons as soon as "level" is 59, but not any sooner, unless it is in a zone with min level 59 or higher (I don't think there is any). Then again that could explain the legendary dragon at level 60. How sure we are about legendary dragons appearing before level 59 (revered ones should be possible at very hard references from lvl 45 on) ? . --Alfwyn (talk) 22:05, 7 February 2014 (GMT)
Searching found 8 "very hard" references to leveled dragons: 0x000fdb0d, 0x000fdb14, 0x000fdb1c, 0x000fdb22, 0x000fdac2, 0x000fdafb, 0x000fdae9, 0x000fdb0d, 0x000fdaf0. Coordinates given there could be used in conjunction with our online map to find them. Additionally to static references, quest aliases can modify the level too, presumably with the same effect. But none of the quests for random dragons has set the dragon alias to "very hard". --Alfwyn (talk) 23:09, 7 February 2014 (GMT)

Dragon Colors

The "DragonBossSkinOutfit" was given the color red as description. However, there are red dragons (OK, there's just one, but more appear in lore) that use a different skin. It may be a bit missleading to call the ancient dragons "red". I'm not sure how to replace it, but I think it deserves some thought. -- SarthesArai Talk 15:44, 28 August 2013 (GMT)

I have a similar suggestion to change the color of Serpentine Dragons from Black to Blue. They are clearly blue and are a very different color than Alduin. 72.171.16.61 21:00, 28 August 2013 (GMT)72.171.16.60
Serpentine dragons are not clearly blue. They are black but with a blue hue, I changed the page to reflect this. In reply to the Odahviing question, even if misleading, we cannot describe them as anything other without being untruthful. They are additionally described as red and black, to try and limit confusion. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 23:51, 28 August 2013 (GMT)

Does that look black to you? Its clearly blue. I will admit Serpentine Dragons do look black at night or when it is stormy out but if you are in apocrypha or when it is sunny out you can see that they are blue. 72.171.16.249 21:04, 29 August 2013 (GMT)72.171.16.60
What about this shot taken in clear daylight, not much blue there. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:40, 29 August 2013 (GMT)
(edit conflict) Based on this file's history, they appear to take on the color of their surroundings a bit. I would want to say dark gray, perhaps with a blue tint, but primarily gray (or black, for simplicity), especially considering this image. Vely►t►e 21:41, 29 August 2013 (GMT)

() Don't know if it's relevant, but CSList uses "black" in the serpentine dragon's outfits, armor, and ANAM record title. --Xyzzy Talk 21:58, 30 August 2013 (GMT)

If I'm allowed to say, Serpentine dragon does look dark blue if viewed in the CK (no surrounding, no lighting), not black with blue hue. While the CK use "black" in the ID of serpentine dragon outfit, "black" should not be used to describe the dragon if it is not really black.117.4.10.65 07:45, 31 August 2013 (GMT)
As long as you are civil, you are allowed to say pretty much whatever you want in talk page discussion. Since this discussion makes it obvious that color is somewhat subjective, the best course may be to use game data rather than observed color when naming dragon types. --Xyzzy Talk 14:26, 31 August 2013 (GMT)

flight whence healed

If u wound a dragon to make it land and then u heal it(or it regains its health in any other way) it will fly again until its wounded to the needed lvl of health - should it be added, since i do not believe that ive seen any mention of this? Also, do different dragons have different reqs for health lvl to land(the thougher the dragon the less min hp percent needed to get him down) ? Im asking that cuz most dragons until ancient need just a bit less than half while revered dragons seem to need less than 30,35 percent or so it seems atleast for me... correct me if im wrong pls... — Unsigned comment by 85.64.16.111 (talk) at 20:38 on 30 August 2013

As far as I know, dragons behave differently. Some land almoust instantly (withouth losing much or any health), some stop in air and breath fire, some land on rooftops and some continue to circle around for as long as possible. I do not know if it's random, related to level or type of dragon. Would be good to know though. — Unsigned comment by Paarthurnax (talkcontribs) at 05:51 on 21 September 2013
The ones that land immediately usually seem to be named dragons. However, I have noticed that their tactics seem to vary based on your character's abilities; if you're playing an archer, they circle around in the air a lot more, whereas if you're playing a melee specialist, they seem to want to charge you more. So in other words they tend to play to your strengths, which is tactically odd but probably makes the game more fun. --Morrolan (talk) 13:50, 23 September 2013 (GMT)
From what I've seen, most if not all dragons have the same basic behavior in combat. They seem to generally alternate between landing and engaging in melee (or breath attacks if you are too far away), performing fly-by breath attacks, and hovering and breathing. Even an undamaged dragon will choose to land and melee with you periodically. I agree that the scripted and named dragon encounters do seem to often have an initial scripted landing to start the encounter, though.
As far as healing a wounded dragon that you are engaged in combat with, I don't see a good reason to document this in the article. The only reasons I can see to heal a hostile dragon during combat are for the purposes of extending combat to get more experience, or just to experiment with game mechanics, neither of which should be documented, IMO. --Xyzzy Talk 15:58, 23 September 2013 (GMT)

Unrelenting Force

While I'm sure the article is correct in stating that most of the dragons know Unrelenting Force, does anyone know how often they actually use it? I've probably fought around 150 dragons in my time playing Skyrim and I don't think I've ever had one use Unrelenting Force on me.--BlackhawkXIII (talk) 09:14, 9 December 2013 (GMT)

Same for me (PS3 and PC). Have never encountered a dragon who uses UF, have only seen draugr use it --Paarthurnax (talk) 21:01, 11 January 2014 (GMT)

"appear more frequently as the main quest progresses"

I've seen this claim all over, but I can't find any more solid info. Which quests in particular increase the dragon spawning frequency? (Or does every quest after Dragon Rising increase it?) And by how much? And how much does finishing the main questline reduce the frequency -- or put another way, what stage of the main quest has a spawning rate most comparable to the post-main-quest spawning rate? -- Ben 50.131.243.230 06:22, 22 January 2014 (GMT)

Off-hand I know that during The Horn of Jurgan Windcaller dragon spawns are stopped. I think its only part of the quest though. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:06, 22 January 2014 (GMT)
All I can see is that dragons are enabled early during The Way of the Voice at stage 5, after that random dragons are turned off at stage 5 of A Blade in the Dark and enabled again at stage 160. There is a global WIWaitDragon (value 3) to control how many days have to pass between random dragons, but that value is never changed. Apart from that I can't find something controlling the frequency as the quest progresses. --Alfwyn (talk) 22:16, 22 January 2014 (GMT)
Wrong quest but only by a whisker. I can only surmise that this information is misinterpreted from the named dragons being deliberately spawned at particular points along the Main Quest, there isn't anything else in the data that I can see that is relevant. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:11, 23 January 2014 (GMT)

Yet another respawned dragon soul question...

I just killed a dragon at a lair that I'd previously cleared and my character didn't absorb it's soul. I went looking to see if this was a bug and I came across this article which does indeed list it as a possible bug. I then went and the checked the official support section and found http://support.bethsoft.com/?i=167 Is that implying it's not a bug...or it is a bug and there's no fix? I'm running PS3 2.09 with all DLC (not legendary edition) so unfortunately the unofficial patches are not an option. I'm around level 28. Does this mean my save file is messed up now? Is this going to cause problems with not having enough souls to unlock all shouts etc? — Unsigned comment by 87.242.160.151 (talk) at 10:44 on 21 February 2014‎

It's a bug that is not fully understood, and it still occasionally occurs even for PC players with the Unofficial Patches. Don't worry, though, because even before I patched my game, it still only happened every once in awhile, so you'll still be able to get plenty of dragon souls. --Xyzzy Talk 14:34, 21 February 2014 (GMT)
I can verify that in my game it is the same dragon throughout several save games which fails to give souls after a given period of time. The baseID is 0005eace with a REFID of 00035541. It is the dragon from Bonestrewn Crest which at first gave it's souls like every other then suddenly, stopped. I've also noticed that after it stops giving souls it seems to become harder to kill and more deadly to fight. I normally can withstand at least one or two bites from a dragon even at Legendary but this one consistently kills me dead if I accidentally let it bite me even once after it stops giving souls. Tiger8u2 (talk) 01:47, 26 December 2014 (GMT)

Dragons inside walled cities

Is this actually confirmed ? I've seen one or two videos where this has happened, but I'm positive that this is a bug as dragons are only meant to appear within the Tamriel worldspace (the exceptions to that are places where they are scripted to be located, such as the Forgotten Vale or Solstheim). I've played Skyrim on this computer for 215 hours, on latest patch and both modded and unmodded copies, dragons have never entered a walled city, so I can only assume a bug is triggered. --86.141.35.55 17:06, 24 February 2014 (GMT)

Yes its true, and its not a bug, there's a written quest for it as a random encounter. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:11, 24 February 2014 (GMT)
Do you know off-hand what the name of the quest is? I'd like to check it out in the game data, since in over 1300 hours of game play, I don't recall ever seeing a dragon attack inside a walled city. --Xyzzy Talk 18:48, 24 February 2014 (GMT)
Dragon Attack - it is started via "SM Event Node"->"Change Location Event" and checks (among other things) that the new location has the keyword LocTypeHabitation. Solitude has that for example. --Alfwyn (talk) 19:03, 24 February 2014 (GMT)
Learn something new every day. I always just assumed this was a bug. In my over 1000+ hours put into this game since release, I've seen a dragon spawn inside a walled city one time, in Solitude. Any idea how frequently these events are programmed to occur? Dukesilver (talk) 00:33, 30 April 2014 (GMT)
Its completely random. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:19, 30 April 2014 (GMT)
I only have a working knowledge of the the CK and coding, but I'm guessing the chances of it happening have to be lower than the chances of dragon spawns elsewhere, though, right? Every discussion I've ever seen people have about the topic mentions that these spawns happen much less frequently. I'm not questioning your expertise, but what else would explain how rare it is? The reason I'm really asking is that I was thinking maybe that it should be clarified on the page that encounters in walled cities are much less frequent. Dukesilver (talk) 00:49, 1 May 2014 (GMT)
The only thing that affects the timing is the dragon encounter timer which affects all random dragon encounters equally. There is nothing in the script that makes a dragon attacking a walled city happen any less than any other encounter. This encounter is actually the same one that makes them attack non-walled cities and towns such as Winterhold or Rorikstead, so the encounter isn't as rare as people perceive. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 01:12, 1 May 2014 (GMT)
Well, after doing some more research, it looks like we're both sort of right about this. Dragons ARE supposed to attack inside walled cities relatively frequently, but there's a bug that's been making it a rare event. Here's the explanation (https://afktrack.afkmods.com/index.php?a=issues&i=15629) from Arthmoor--a fix has been incorporated into USKP 2.0.4a.Dukesilver (talk) 14:45, 23 May 2014 (GMT)
Just confirming that, after ~1400 hours of gameplay, I saw a dragon attack occur in-city for the first time since installing the latest version of USKP (in Riften, for the record) - so I guess their fix works. 203.206.100.132 06:27, 27 May 2014 (GMT)
Actually it may have been the second time - I have a dim memory of seeing it occur once before, but that might have been part of a quest or something. In any case, I was so surprised that I immediately came here to see if it was the result of a specially scripted quest event, or whatever. 203.206.100.132 06:44, 27 May 2014 (GMT)

() It may be worth noting that *all* sorts of attacks seem to be possible within city walls now. Since I installed the lastest USKP, I've fast-travelled to Whiterun to find the guards fighting off a wolf (the first time) and a bandit (the second time) within the walls of the city. (Which is a little silly since there are two guards on the other side of the gate that would've easily killed them before they ever got inside the walls...). --Irrevenant (talk) 13:43, 30 June 2014 (GMT)

Red dragon?

The article gives stats for red dragons and gives Odahving as an example, but those aren't Odahvings stats. I assume these stats are from a dragon type never actually used and O is a "red dragon" in appearance only? — Unsigned comment by 68.33.72.213 (talk) at 15:48 on 15 March 2014

Did you neglect your health when you were leveling up (using too many of them to increase magicka and/or stamina)? If you look at the legendary dragon section, you will notice that they can do an enormous amount of physical damage with each attack. Also, when you say "3 hits", do you mean 3 physical attacks or breath attacks? Legendary dragons have a very powerful breath attack that your armor won't help against. You need resistance to magicka or fire/frost to reduce damage from them. --Xyzzy Talk 06:15, 4 April 2014 (GMT)

Unofficial Patch Does Not Fix Dragon Soul BUG

The bug did not go away after installing the patch. Are there bad scripts which cause this kept in the save game? Did the Dragonborn DLC re-introduce the bug or does Miraak stealing some souls make it worse? Tiger8u2 (talk) 03:21, 24 May 2014 (GMT)

Dragon Speech

I observed a curious thing today. When not engaging in combat, dragons may actually talk to the player. (I experienced this when I immediatly died right next to a dragon (died from falling, landing near the dragon which was not in combat at the time) As I dropped dead, the dragon spoke (sounding much like Sahroknir): Speak, if you have ought to say worth the listening.

I assume that this could be re-observed if some one added themselves to the dragon faction, and walked up to a dragon. Note: It was only a Frost Dragon, not an ancient dragon like mentioned in the article. — Unsigned comment by Woodenplank (talkcontribs) at 13:19 on 21 June 2014‎

"Speak, if you have aught to say worth the listening." is the exact line, and it requires you to be on neutral terms with a dragon (by my reading). Generally this seems to be easily replicated if you use a shout before Alduin finishes a resurrection (the shout doesn't need to affect the dragon). I can't find anything that relates to your comment on frost dragon/ancient dragons in the article. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 13:42, 21 June 2014 (GMT)

Strangest Glitch I've Ever Encountered - Dragon Death

I've been playing Skyrim again after a long time, and I'm working on my main file. Heavy armor, two-handed, archery, restoration, destruction. I just finished killing a dragon at the College of Winterhold (Elder variety), and upon death, the dragons' body simple vanished, and a small pile of ghostly remains... Well, remained. Just instantly, poof. I still absorbed the dragon's soul, but with minor visual effects and no sound of absorbing. I do not have the Disintegrate perk for Destruction. I only used a dual-cast variant of the Lightning Bolt spell to kill it, as well as Derkeethus using a shock-enchanted advanced crossbow, of the regular kind. In short, I killed a dragon that apparently was a ghost...? -Light-in-His-Eyes (talk) 00:21, 4 August 2014 (GMT)

What do dragons spend their stamina & magicka on?

That's a Shout! It couldnt be possibly to drain magicka while shouting! Dragonborn doesnt! And what is satamina bar used for in this case? Maybe, for flying or tail attacks, I suppose? 37.21.37.21 09:44, 7 March 2015 (GMT)

Game-mechanic wise, Dragons use different shouts than the player, and these shouts do use up magica. I do not know why the developers did that (maybe the AI uses magicka cost to decide which spell/shout to use? just a guess), but it is a fact. What they need their stamina for is unknown to me, but like all characters, they do have some, and as a game-encyclopedia we document it here. -- SarthesArai Talk 12:48, 7 March 2015 (GMT)
1) And what is cost to cast, I wonder? Why all dragons regardless of level have the same magicka capacity in such circumstances?
2) Maybe, flying or tail attacks drain stamina, don't you think? 37.21.5.185 01:11, 8 March 2015 (GMT)

Sorry guys, but I still cant get your odd icons

What's 'at one mean, for example? [2] Fortify Unarmed, right? But what is actual damage? Should I just add these points to damage provided in table? So Blood Dragon's bite drain health by 100 points? You sure? Or this one? [3] If I cast 50pts Fireball, it won't deal any damage with 50pts fire resistance? 37.21.37.21 10:56, 7 March 2015 (GMT)

The icons themselves were copied from oblivion. To their meaning:
  •   Fortify Unarmed Damage does increase the ammount of damage they do, but this ability has already been taken into consideration for the values provided in the table.
  •   Resist Fire /   Resist Frost work multiplicatively, so your 50 pt Fireball would only deal 25 pt Fire Damage to a Dragon with 50 pt Fire Resistance. If these values are negative, that means they have a weakness to the specific element, so your 50 pt Fireball would deal 62.5 pt damage to a dragon with -25 pt Fire resistance. -- SarthesArai Talk 12:48, 7 March 2015 (GMT)
Just not to bewilder site visitors, I insistently advice you to use in proper cases this magical symbol:

The game describes fire resistance using points, so we follow that in our technical information. There's an article actually explaining the effect (percentage signs aplenty), if you want to understand the specifics. If you're looking at technical data, come prepared to be bewildered I'm afraid. —Legoless (talk) 01:51, 8 March 2015 (GMT)
But 'at's not actually the points! In cases like Fortify Unarmed you should write up there: «[number]pts» (also you should note in damage columns: «Fortify Unarmed included»), but in cases like Resist Fire you OUGHT to do otherwise: «[number]%» This site is for the PEOPLE, not for Bethesda inspectors, you should keep it in your mind, fella. 37.21.38.59 08:33, 9 March 2015 (GMT)

Killed dragons don't crash

I keep running into dragons that, when killed (meaning their health bar disappears), simply fly away into the distance instead of crashing and giving up their soul/loot. Didn't see a mention for this on the bug list, is this a known bug/does it have a workaround? I'm on 360 version 1.9. It doesn't happen every time, might be related to eliminating too much of their health at once (my bow does 966 dmg before my archery enchanted circlet adds to it)? 24.255.217.175 04:28, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Killing a dragon in the air won't result in an immediate crash as this is generally improbable in normal play. They will find a suitable landing spot, land, then promptly die. I've never encountered ones that just fly off though, it depends on your immediate terrain (mountainous etc) and they might have to fly far away to find somewhere. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:45, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
In this particular case, I killed it while it was on the ground, and then it took off and flew away (this has happened before, which is why I thought it may have something to do with killing it too quickly). I apparently got lucky this time, I ran across it later, lying on the ground against a mountainside near Boethia's Shrine, at which point it gave up it's soul and loot, which surprised me. 24.255.217.175 14:18, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
I've witnessed the phenomenon of a 'dead' dragon taking off only to crash back to earth, but always nearby or the same place they took off from. If it is related to taking too much health at once then it would be excluded from our bugs as the possibility can open happen by exploiting another for the high damage weapons. However, now that it is here on the talk page perhaps someone will look into it and discover something. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 14:54, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Soul absorbtion from alive dragon

After that, dragon becomes absolutely invulnerable to any type of attack, either from my character or from any NPC. Do you have any mods or unofficial patches, or do you make an extent use of console commands now or earlier that may have affected the dragons' behaviour? —MortenOSlash (talk) 11:26, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
When this bug occured, there were no mods or patches installed, just Skyrim and 3 official add-ons. I will say even more-when i delete any mod, i ALWAYS load the save which was made before installation of the mod.
I also load pre-made save after experiments with console commands. The only console commands that were saved were to get back paragons from Dawnguard, as i sold them by mistake.
No other console codes were saved. — Unsigned comment by 37.214.2.133 (talk) at 10:19 on 30 June 2015‎
Does it happen with dragons several places or is it with only this dragon? Where was it? —MortenOSlash (talk) 16:33, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
I'm absolutely sure that one such bug occured when i was getting close to Eldersblood Peak and in Dragontooth Crater. But i cannot say anything more without doubt. Probably, i saw such a dragon near Water Stone.
When i ran into this bug first time, at last i found a way out-i killed this bugged dragon before he approached me. After the location update, i found a normal, non-bugged dragon there.
And, i have to say that my MH was created in 1.2 version of Skyrim, than i updated the game to 1.8 and had DLCs installed, than to 1.9 legendary edition. Now he is 86 lvl.
Is it possible that this bug occurs because of version differences?
As you probably guess, English is not my native language. I apologize for possible mistakes. Hope you understand me well. — Unsigned comment by 37.214.145.153 (talk) at 23:15 on 5 July 2015 (UTC)
You are not the only one not native to the English language. We have also all been new, so a bit of advice before I answer:
What sometimes is a problem is that you seem to have new IP addresses every time you visit UESP as an anonymous (that is not logged on with a user account), and we have problems knowing you as the same each time. (I am guessing you are the same, though.) Also, it would be nice if you sign (instructions both above and below the edit box when you write), and please observe how each user puts one more : before their text in a section to indent it one step more.
Back to the topic:
I just want to confirm if I am getting this right. You say the bug is that you absorb the dragon soul before the dragon has died, and then it becomes unkillable? You have met this dragon twice, and the same trouble happens each time you try to reload and attack the dragon? The only solution is to kill it before it gets close enough for you to absorb the soul?
So far I get you, if I understand you correctly.
Then you have met one other dragon by Water Stone you think have the same bug, but you are not sure because you never came close enough? What indications did you have it was the same bug?
When did the bug first occur? Only after the 1.9 legendary upgrade, or through several versions? Was it long between upgrade and the first occurence? —MortenOSlash (talk) 06:15, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
I followed your advice and registered an account.
To the topic: yes, you understand me almost correctly. You misunderstand me only in speaking about dragon near Water Stone. I wanted to say that, AS FAR AS I REMEMBER, dragon near Water Stone had the same problem once (i've killed this dragon many times, as game respawns him after some time). But i'm not sure that i remeber correctly-it happened quite long time ago.
This bug first occured after 1.9 upgrade. What concerns time between upgrade and first occurence of bug-i again can't rely on my memory in such things. — User 37.214 Mogilev (talk) 20:16, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

() I see. I do not know the game mechanics as much as some of the others here, so I can not come up with a solution, but it definitely seem like a bug to add to the bug lists here. I hope there might be others coming up with some kind of solution. I guess on PC it will involve some kind of console command. I will add the bug now, but you can feel free to add bugs you find yourself later. If a solution comes up, it will be added there.

By the way, did you see what I did in the beginning of my contribution here? This is because after a longer discussion we start to get a lot of indents. That is an outdent, to start anew with indents. —MortenOSlash (talk) 05:07, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Yes, i see this outdent. Thanks for useful advice. I will use it in appropriate situation.
By the way, have you ever heard about such bug i described? I have not. If it is a rare bug, it will be a problem to find someone who had found a permanent solution. —User 37.214 Mogilev (talk) 10:54, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Soulless Dragons

I realize this has been brought up before (and many times). However, for me, the "respawned" dragons have never given souls after the first time. I ended up downloading a mod that basically makes the script to spark the "dragon soul absorption" sequence a player-triggerable event, because without the respawning dragons giving souls, well, there simply isn't enough souls available in the game to unlock all the vanilla shouts, much less the ones from the expansions. As to "what mods were you running when you noticed this issue?", the answer is "none, I first noticed it playing the vanilla game with no mods." I don't know what causes this bug, but once it happens, it happens all the time. I suspect there is something I am doing in my usual sequence of following the story that causes it, but I don't know what. 67.0.84.93 23:14, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

It isn't a bug, after you clear a dragon den the respawned dragon doesn't give a soul. It is to encourage you to explore, and gives you a resin do save the city and towns. If you travel with the kajiit caravans, you will find one or two. ~~ — Unsigned comment by 166.137.248.66 (talk) at 19:38 on 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Dragon escapes from fight, a new one comes

This happened to me only once. It was either a blood dragon or a frost dragon and it was on Bonestrewn Crest. After the dragon lost about half of his health, it flew away and seemingly landed behind Witchmist Grove. I ran there to kill the dragon but it wasn't there and I failed to find after searching the nearby area. After a while (about a minute or so) I saw a dragon flying to Bonestrewn Crest from great distance, more or less from the same direction in which the other dragon previously disappeared. I thought this newcomer was "my" dragon but this one, despite being the same type (blood or frost), had full health. I killed it, absorbed soul. I tried to look for the former dragon again but I didn't find it. Did something similar happened to someone else? That a dragon escapes or disappears from fight and new one comes and replaces it? I know that the article mentions that a dragon can fly away from fight but it doesn't mention that a new one can replace it. 93.91.51.153 11:20, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Either that was just coincidence, or that dragon regenerated his health while he was away. I haven't heard of this being any intended behavior -- SarthesArai Talk 16:54, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
