Skyrim talk:Alfhild Battle-Born

Alfhild apparently doesn't care for JonEdit

I have Alfhild saying that "[Jon] died before he had the chance" to attend the Bards College. He's still quite alive. The only member of Whiterun who is currently dead is Amren.--DaedalusMachina (talk) 15:12, 21 May 2015 (GMT)

I've had this happen to me too (without anyone in Whiterun being dead), perhaps it's a common bug? 95.195.223.115 21:07, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Incest???Edit

So Alfhild is Jon's brother, but both Jon and Idolaf are Battle-Borns? Alfhild was a Battle-Born by birth since she is Jon's brother (and also refers to Bergritte as "Mother"), so did Alfhild marry her brother, Idolaf? Is this not worth mentioning in the article to clarify any confusion? — Unsigned comment by 67.231.171.38 (talk) at 13:12 on 20 June 2018

The "confusion" is addressed on the Clan Battle-Born page. It is just another example of bad coding making things appear what they are not (as well as some dialogue). The coded relationships are not a totally reliable source, the names attached to the numbers for each person are technically meaningless. The biggest confusion comes from assuming Idolaf is a born Battle-Born, where it is most likely he took the name after marriage (probably because it has much more status than whatever his original was). This is usually done in circumstances where the wife has no male siblings to otherwise carry on the name/take the inheritance (a "famous" half-example is Jay-Z, and it was obviously much more common in medieval times due to primogeniture). This isn't the only "screwed up" family relationship in Skyrim. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 13:11, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
