Solitude Sewers is a sewer system located in western Solitude, overrun with Sheogorath's influence. The sewers are being encroached upon by a root tunnel from the Shivering Isles. The sewers themselves are inaccessible until starting Restoring Order. It is inhabited by Elytra and Corrupted Spriggans resembling Gnarls.

Be sure to loot the many hollowed stumps throughout the dungeon, as they usually contain amber, a rare material needed to craft amber arms and armor. Right before reaching Thoron's lair, you will discover a bunch of Golden and Dark equipment scattered around. A note on the barrel next to the battlefield will reveal that this was the site of a battle between rival Golden Saints and Dark Seducers, and that the Saint and Seducer bandits took their equipment from this site. Further along is Thoron's lair, where you will find that he is conducting a ritual with the Sword of Jyggalag. He is a tough opponent, but after slaying him, his journals reveal that madness had already taken root underneath Solitude, as these root tunnels were already here when Thoron took residence. He only deepened the breach between Tamriel and the Shivering Isles by using the Sword in his attempt to return to the Isles.

After killing Thoron, be sure to loot the nearby table of the rare madness ore which is needed for another quest and the unique Sheogorath-Shaped Amber. Additionally, be sure to read the Note on Amber and Madness Ore to obtain a miscellaneous quest to unlock the secrets of forging madness and amber gear.
