Split Store TypesEdit

This is an idea that has been thrown around a few times on some talk pages and in the IRC, but I wanted to put it somewhere more relevant. It has been suggested that, due to the vast number of stores in ESO, we should split "Types" of store into more manageable pieces so that the list of Stores can be easily divvied up. What follows is my list of proposed store types, along with the vendor types that are most commonly found there. Note that those that also come under Services (namely Bank, Inn, Guildhall, and Stable) already use their own type.

  • Combined under Guildhalls
  • Depending on whether these are offering Goods or Transport Services, they may be combined with Marketplaces
    •   Caravans  (Elden Root/Wayrest/Mournhold)
    •   Docks  (Travel)

** Clothiers is also a vendor type, but due to the limited number of Clothier stores (most Clothier vendors are found at Smithies rather than their own shops), they can be added on to the existing Clothiers page.

As far as I remember there are some places marked as one type (not marketplace) but containing a few similar merchants such as Blacksmith and Clothier under one roof, would these go under Markets? Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:38, 7 October 2014 (GMT)
If it's literally 'one roof', then I would say not; The High King's Forge in Wayrest, for example, is definitely a smithy that happens to have a clothier standing in the corner. Tradesman's Square, on the other hand, is centred on a smithy, but has a number of other shops and stalls around it, which then makes it a marketplace. --Enodoc (talk) 14:37, 7 October 2014 (EDT)
How long do I leave this for people to comment on? I don't want to start implementing any changes if someone's just going to come along afterwards and say it shouldn't have been done. --Enodoc (talk) 11:22, 17 October 2014 (GMT)
It turns out that carpenters and joiners make different products, and that Carpentry is a viable and in-use name for a woodcraft workshop, and is more valid for "place where a carpenter works", so I've changed the proposed Joinery to Carpentry. Since there have been no more comments, I'll make the necessary adjustments to the Online Place Summary, and start working on this split later on today. --Enodoc (talk) 11:37, 19 November 2014 (GMT)
