Venetia

Venetia is an Imperial citizen found at the Daggerfall Covenant Base in the Imperial Sewers. She is one of the survivors of the Daedric invasion on the Imperial City.

DialogueEdit

She isn't very optimistic about the state of things. She has several greetings for you when you speak with her.

"I don't know if you have any loved ones back home, but if you're heading out into the city, you might want to write up a final farewell letter.
Don't try to give it to me, though. I couldn't care less for your sentimental garbage."
"I have to tell you, I've heard a lot of high praise for this King Emeric of yours; they say he's a real man-of-the-people.
If that's really the truth, then where in Oblivion is he now? Not here. I can tell you that much."
"Oh, you're nice and shiny, aren't you? Either you're smart enough to have avoided the sewers, or you're nimble enough to avoid stepping in the sludge and blood.
I'd ask you which, but I really don't even care."
"I've been sitting here for days now, and I have to say, you Covenant types really know how to put on a good show. Your officers seem to think it's a comedy, but I'll go ahead and spoil the ending for you… it's actually a tragedy."
What happened to you?
"You mean, how did I get to be so cheerful? Let's see, I'm not sure if it was when the Worm Cult sent my undead husband to kill me or when the Daedroth paraded me around the Nobles District, half-naked and bleeding."
How did you survive?
"My charm, of course! You're not buying it, are you? No, I actually wound up beating my husband's corpse back to death with a chair leg, and the Daedroth eventually dropped me. I crawled into the sewers and wound up here."
I understand why you're a little bitter then.
"Thanks for your sympathies, but you can keep them. Truth is I've always been a bitter, angry woman. My poor husband was probably relieved when they killed him. Who knows? Maybe his corpse came after me of its own will."

Cut ContentEdit

Venetia would have been the quest giver for the Daggerfall Covenant's version of the cut quest, Going to Market.

"You're in the wrong place for encouragement. Death and horror we have plenty of, thanks to Molag Bal. The only thing that would encourage me would be to find out Maximinus is dead."
(?)
"He's a merchant who lives in the Market District. He's also a thief and a liar, in league with the Daedra, I bet. If you find him, kill him for me."
(?)

After the quest, she would have greeted you in one of several ways:

"You thought I'd be happy to hear that Maximinus is dead? I am. This is my happy face."
"I should have asked you to bring me back Maximinus's head. His skull would have made a nice chamber pot."
"So, Maximinus is dead. I hope it hurt … a lot."
"I heard about Maximinus. Best news I've heard in months. Good riddance to him."
