Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Tours of High Isle and AmenosEdit

Seared Ornaug Filet, a local specialty

This quest can be started in a variety of ways. By reading the Help Wanted: Philien's Tours noticeboard at any Event Exchange or picking the quest up directly from the Crown Store, you will be directed to Philien Visour in Gonfalon Bay. Alternatively, you can go directly to Philien himself to begin the quest. He can be found inside the Gonfalon Gaming Hall.

Philien plans to start a new business offering tours of High Isle and Amenos to mainlanders. He is seeking the aid of an adventurer to survey various fishing holes and scenic viewpoints across the two islands to determine whether they are dangerous locations or safe for tourists. Firstly, however, he wishes to hear your opinion on a selection of High Isle dishes he has prepared as part of the tour experience.

You will need to taste the Gonfalon Seafood Gumbo, Abecean Fish Biscuits, and Seared Ornaug Filet. All three dishes can be found in the gaming hall. In truth, only the Seared Ornaug Filet is considered to be high cuisine by the locals, although you will have to keep your opinions to yourself until after you complete the survey work. Once you have sampled all three dishes, head out and visit the eight locations marked on your map in any order. You will need to write a survey report at each site.

Fishing Hole LocationsEdit

Some fishing holes are more dangerous than others
  • A fishing platform at Steadfast Manor. This is a safe fishing hole with plenty of friendly Island Fisherfolk making use of it.
  • A floating platform in the bay northeast of Jheury's Cove. This fishing hole is dangerous, as a gang of Dark Brotherhood assassins (Medila Faram, Sahurzo, and Thorfinn) are present at the location and will ask you to move along. The blood on the ground indicates this may not be the best place to send tourists.
  • South of the Spire of the Crimson Coin entrance. This location is dangerous. You may find the water here to be filled with stinking green pollution and corpses. Alternatively, you may encounter a Green Serpent Bandit standing over a fisherman's corpse, who will disappear as you approach the scene of the crime. Another possible sight there is a giant Coral Crab emerging from the sea.
  • North of Serpents Hollow Wayshrine. This lake is a safe fishing hole, with a friendly Banished Fisherfolk and Island Fisherfolk present.

Scenic Viewpoint LocationsEdit

Scout Philien's viewpoints for signs of danger
  • Atop some boulders at Dufort Shipyards. This is a safe location, and two Mainlander Gadabouts can be found here enjoying the view.
  • On the coast northeast of Brokerock Mine. This is a dangerous location. You may come across either a Green Serpent Bandit or a vampire lord named Sumalatha Thota at this location. They will disappear as you approach, leaving behind an unfortunate victim. Or you may witness a sea monster emerging from water and splashing towards the nearby rock, killing the person standing on it all the same.
  • In the jungle east of Amenos Station, just south of the skyshard. This is a dangerous location. You may run into an unfortunate Wood Elf named Clendonir here, who will activate a Dwarven device as you approach, resulting in an explosion of electricity and his instant vaporization. Alternatively, you may find a group of Daedric Cultists standing around a summoning circle; as you approach, a Daedroth will emerge from a portal and kill one of the cultists, causing the other two to flee.
  • A shipwreck in the bay at Skulltooth Coast. This viewpoint is safe, with Mainlander Gadabouts found hanging out onboard. A lead for the Cracked Stone Grill Tray antiquity can be found here, part of the Druidic Provisioning Station furnishing.

Report Back to PhilienEdit

Once you have scouted all eight locations, return to Philien for your reward. He will ask for feedback on his pamphlet, and will be disappointed to learn that many of the locations proved to be pretty dangerous. He will also ask for your input on the three seafood dishes. You can choose to tell him that they were all bad or all enjoyable, or you can recommend only the ornaug filet. Regardless of your choice, Philien will hand you a Society of the Steadfast's Munificence box containing event loot as well as some leveled gold.
