Soul Strike
Soul Strike: Burn an enemy from the inside with soulfire, dealing [39210 / 39636 / 40065 / 40493] Magic Damage over 5 seconds. While channeling this ability, you gain immunity to all disabling effects. Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 3 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.
Soul Assault: Channel Time: 6 seconds, Duration: 6 seconds.
Burn an enemy from the inside with soulfire, dealing [53995 / 54581 / 55173 / 55771] Magic Damage over 6 seconds. While channeling this ability, you gain immunity to all disabling effects. Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 3 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.
Shatter Soul: Area: 6 meters.
Burn an enemy from the inside with soulfire, dealing 40496 Magic Damage over 5 seconds. Upon completion, the soulfire overflows and explodes from the enemy, dealing [6352 / 6421 / 6491 / 6561] Magic Damage to all enemies near them. While channeling this ability, you gain immunity to all disabling effects. Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 3 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.

Soul Strike deals heavy Magic Damage over time to a single target while giving you immunity to disabling effects and preventing the target from going invisible for the duration. The Soul Assault morph increases the duration (and thus the damage) of the attack, while Shatter Soul causes the target to explode and damage nearby enemies at the end of the channel.

Note: In many of the earlier patch notes, the skill was mistakenly referred to as Soul Assault, which is actually one of its morphs.[verification needed — or were the names changed?]

  • Soul Assault: This ability's tooltip now lists the proper snare value.
  • Soul Assault: The tooltip for this ability now shows the correct snare duration.
  • Reduced the cost of this ability by 30%.
    • Shatter Soul: Increased the area of effect damage dealt by this ability by 22%.
  • This ability can no longer can be purged or interrupted, but can now be blocked.
  • You will now be immune to CC while channeling this ability.
  • Increased the damage from this ability by 15%.
  • This ability now prevents your target from entering stealth and invisibility for 2 seconds.
    • Shatter Soul: Increased the explosion damage by 50%.
  • Removed 350 milliseconds of empty channeling time without another tick of damage occurring from this ability and its morphs. Total damage dealt with these abilities remains unchanged.
  • Shatter Soul: Fixed an issue where Rank IV of this morph could be removed by Purge.
  • Soul Assault: This ability and its morphs no longer snare the enemy target.
    • Developer Comment: One of the main counters to channeled abilities is being able to break light of sight/out range the ability, which is extremely difficult when faced with a 70% snare.
  • Fixed an issue where this ability and the Shatter Soul morph were still snaring the enemy target. The snare has been removed from all versions of this ability.
  • Shatter Soul: Fixed and issue where the visual effects from this morph's explosion were multiplying in intensity based on how many enemies you hit with it.
  • Increased the damage per tick for this ability and its morphs by approximately 22%, but increased the time it takes to deal its total damage to 5 seconds from 2.9 seconds to help reduce the bursty nature of the ultimate. This also means the CC immunity granted from activating the ability lasts the 5 seconds, instead of only 2.9.
  • Increased the Reveal on this ability and its morphs to 3 seconds from 2 seconds.
  • Increased the base cost to 175 Ultimate from 100 Ultimate.
  • Shatter Soul:
    • This morph's explosion no longer requires the target to die in order to occur. Instead, when the channel is completed or ends early, it will detonate.
    • Reduced the damage of the explosion by approximately 37%.
    • Fixed an issue where the explosion was not applying the Reveal effect to targets hit, as the tooltip implied.
  • Fixed an issue where this Ultimate and its morphs could fail to trigger other sets that had "while in combat" requirements if it was your first cast to initiate combat.
  • Fixed an issue where this Ultimate and morphs' reveal was not a negative effect, and therefore could not be purged or was visible on your buff tracker.
