Shadeya

Shadeya is a Pahmar-raht mercenary who has been hired to protect a Baandari caravan. She can be found at the pedlars' camp near Sailenmora. She does not appear until the related quest has begun.

When you approach the camp during your investigation, you'll find Shadeya complaining to Eilirsu-dro about the Temple.

Shadeya: "Why are we stopping here when these Dark Elves lurk about the edges of our camp?"

Eilirsu-dro: "Oh, Shadeya, you worry too much! Surely they mean us no harm."

Shadeya: "Feh! Old fool."

You must speak with her during your investigation of the Baandari camp.

"What is it you want? Your nose is too close to my face."

Who are you?

"This one is called Shadeya. She and her mercenaries are here only to protect the caravan for coin. This one dislikes this place and will remain no longer than she must.
You have questions? Talk to the elder. This one knows nothing."

Did you visit the Shrine of Saint Vorys?

"This one is not in the habit of paying tithes to foreign saints. The elder may have gone, but he insisted others stay at the camp.
Fine by this one, so long as she gets paid."

Have you seen any suspicious activity around your camp?

"Yes, a nosy walker came to spy and ask foolish questions! And Shadeya was the only one bothered by this!
Then again, the elder and his family are Baandari. They are used to being treated like criminals. Anything else, nosy walker?"

What do you do exactly?

"Stand a bit closer and find out. This one is quick with her blade and does not hesitate to stick it in those who ask for it. Pray that won't be you."

So you're a mercenary?

"Bother someone else if you're looking for a job, walker. This one's band has no room to cut in another share. These pedlars can barely afford us as it is."

If you speak to her again after questioning her, she says:

"You are still standing here? This one is concerned you do not know what is good for you."

After examining the Bandari camp:

"This one has nothing left to tell you, walker."

She is not present in the camp after Armiger Rilasi tells you to follow the Lark of Rosgard into the crypts, and thus cannot be spoken to at that time. While you're away, she takes the Baandari hostage with the intent of forcing the Lark to give her the Talisman of Saint Vorys to sell for gold. She leaves a ransom note for you to find when you finish chasing the Lark through the crypts.

You'll pursue her to the Old Sailenmora Outpost, where she demands that you toss her the talisman in exchange for the Baandari elder's life.

Shadeya: "Walker? Come no closer, or this one will bleed out the elder. Where is the thief?"

Eilirsu-dro: "Shadey, please—this one is sure the walker means no harm. We can talk through this, yes?"

Speak to Shadeya.

"You should have kept your nose to yourself, walker. This does not concern you!"

I have the Talisman of Saint Vorys.

"What? Where did you—?
It does not matter. Give it to Shadeya, now!"

What are you planning to do with the Talisman?

"With so many hands grasping for it, someone must pay well for it, yes?
Shadeya is losing patience. Toss it over, now!"

I'll throw it on the count of three. One … two ….

"What was that? No! Curse you, thief!"

The Lark frees the Elder and the two of them teleport to your side on your count. Furious, Shadeya draws her blade and begins to walk towards the back door.

Shadeya: "No! You will pay for this, walker! Surrender the talisman, or the others die!"

Eilirsu-dro: "Please walker, save this one's family! Give her the talisman if you must!"

Shadeya is accompanied by a Sellsword Beastcaller and a Sellsword Alchemist. When you enter combat against her in the outpost's annex, she proclaims:

Shadeya: "You will not give the talisman willingly? Face Shadeya's blades and suffer!"

When her health reaches 30%, she says:

Shadeya: "No! This one has risked too much to forfeit now!"
