The Shade of Prince Naemon and the Veiled Heritance have somehow raised the infamous warriors of the Blackroot Clan from the dead.
Quick WalkthroughEdit
- Talk to Indaenir.
- Watch scenes from the past.
- Find General Malgoth's remains.
- (Optional) Close the shadow rifts.
- Return the bow. (Choice) Relese the General and his army's spirit or order them to assist and remain bound.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
The Blackroot Clan died in Dread Vullain, but Naemon's shade has raised them from the dead. You need to uncover what happened to the Clan to put their spirits back to rest.
The leader of the Blackroot Clan is missing his bow, which invokes the right of theft. The villagers poisoned themselves to poison the Blackwood Clan. Enter the Nereid Temple Cave to find the general's remains and retrieve his bow. However, the servant of Prince Naemon stole the bow. Close shadow rifts to weaken Prince Naemon's hold on the forest, while Indaenir looks for the servant.
Return the bow to the general and, due to the right of theft, you can either release the general and his army or command them to fight for Queen Ayrenn.
NotesEdit
- Three quests - Retaking the Pass (Driladan Pass), Right of Theft (Dread Vullain) and The Blight of the Bosmer (Verrant Morass) - are all part of the overarching meta-quest "Shades of Green", although you will not be assigned the latter until you complete ONE of these three, whereupon you will be assigned "Shades of Green" with one objective already completed and the other two still to do. If you follow the Zone Story in the correct order, "Retaking the Pass" will be the first one of the three encountered, although the other two can be done independently if the area is reached early. Alternatively, if you somehow reach Hectahame before starting ANY of the three, then "Breaking the Ward" will ask you to choose ONE of the three places to go to.
- The three are also mutually exclusive: while you're doing one of them, it will not be possible to start either of the other two. This is because, although technically the quest giver for each one is a different member of the Vinedusk Rangers, all three also involve Indaenir, and he can't be in three places at once.
- All three are needed to unlock Hectahame itself.
- Talking to Elphirion after sealing the shadow rifts, which itself is labeled as an optional objective, is stated as an hint to proceed the quest when it is not required to do so.
- The Blackroot Clan enemies in the village become neutral upon completing the quest and clearing the location.
BugsEdit
- The "Ancient Wrath" buff given by the Persuade option with Elphirion has no timer and description given as to what it specifically does when seen in the Character section. ?
- Sometimes Indaenir won't show up at the Nerdir Temple after seeing the last Vision Of The Past.
- A simple logout and relogin should fix this ?

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
