After defeating Diiril's turned guards, Merdyndril will taunt you and Captain Diiril will turn into a husk:
- Voice of Merdyndril: "You resist my plague? Let's try a stronger version!"
Merdyndril shows himself after killing the husk of Captain Diiril:
- Merdyndril: "You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?"
Engaging him in combat:
- Merdyndril: "I shall experiment upon your body."

Merdyndril dual wields. He has all the normal attacks of a dual-wielding thug, though he has a unique ability. Occasionally, he will throw down a bottle full of Llodos plague, which sets down an aoe around him that will debuff you if you stand in it. If you're not careful, he can take you down fairly quickly.
