Devastator Rullen was an Imperial Waking Flame cultist who was sent with a squad of acolytes to steal a particular Daedric object from Lyranth in her lair. He managed to stab Lyranth with a special knife before she injured him in turn. He will have died from his injuries when you find him.

An Apocalyptic SituationEdit
After checking her coffer for the item that the cultists were seeking, Lyranth will have you track down Rullen who she managed to greviously injure. When you find his body, you can search it; you won't find Lyranth's artifact, but you will find the Waking Flame Letter which details his mission and where his base is located.
After you have retrieved the Portal Key from the Waking Flame Camp along with other documents, you can meet with Lyranth in Marbruk Outlaws Refuge where you will find Devastator Rullen's body splayed out on a table.
The Key and the CataclystEdit
Starting this quest, Lyranth will explain her plan. With a combination of alchemy, magic, and Rullen's body, Lyranth will disguise you as Devastor Rullen as you both infiltrate the Waking Flame base located in Oblivion.
