Quest-Related EventsEdit

During your search for the other expedition members, you find Ardia's Journal where you read that she managed to escape at first. But you find her strapped into a device at the cultist camp on the Mid Level of Doomvault Vulpinaz. You will need to stop the ritual before her soul is drained away. You can either destroy the Soul Siphon Array first, but the backlash can kill Ardia. But if you find and destroy the two nearby Ritual Focus Crystals, Ardia has a better chance of surviving.

When you destroy the Soul Siphon Array located in front of the device, your previous actions will decide what happens next:

Destroyed the Focus Crystals first:

Mirri Elendis: "Come on, Ardia—watch your step!"

<Ardia hobbles after her.>

Ardia: "I—I'm just a little unsteady!"

Destroying the Soul Siphon Array first:

<Ardia is killed.>

Mirri Elendis: "Ardia … I hope you find peace at least. Let's get out of here."

<Mirri heads to the door to the next section.>

If Ardia lives, you have the option to talk to her first when you catch up to the pair:

"Normally I love new experiences. It's why I got into exploring. Not that one. Never, ever again."

We found your journal.

"Oh! I thought I'd never see that again! Thank you. I have a great deal to add to it now. I think it's good to record all you can, good and bad. It forces you to think about what you've seen and done, makes you more mindful of how events shape you."

Did you learn something that we might find helpful?

"Xigira was yelling at her followers about jeopardizing the foothold when I was trying to escape. I don't quite get what she meant, but I think they're turning this place into their stronghold.
And, I saw Xigira when they caught me. The real Xigira."

What do you mean, the real Xigira?

"Among her followers she dropped the mask she'd been wearing. She's a Daedra. These cultists are the usual misguided fools dabbling with things they don't really understand. They're true believers. I'll never forget how they howled for her adulation."

Speaking to her after talking to Mirri:

"I'm going to take it slow, but I should be all right getting away now that you and Mirri are here causing a commotion.
I hope you're able to save the others."

Once you have stopped all Xigira and the cultist's rituals, you can find Ardia at the camp near the river once you leave Doomvault Vulpinaz:
