Eshe, since I'm pretty sure you're online right now - I had hesitated to flag the vague regional areas like "Valus Mountains" or "Heartlands" as pages that needed cleanup under the OPRP, since you can't really travel to them. However, I see value in using them as redundancy catchalls, perhaps collecting all the mines, caves, inns, etc., in the Valus Mountains and organizing them here. I take it by your flagging that you agree - should we begin dissecting a Cyrodiil map to decide where the borders of these regions lie? --Kementari 19:48, 3 July 2007 (EDT)

Rpeh, if you are referring to a singular noun, in this case "mountain range," then yes, you use a singular being verb. You would say the Alps is a mountain range! That is the correct wording, I am sure of it. --HMSVictory^Talk 13:05, 20 May 2008 (EDT)

But it makes absolute grammatical sense. Consider these examples:

• The Alps are mountains.
• The Alps is a mountain range.
• The Alps is a range of mountains.
• The Alps are mountain ranges.

HMSVictory, if you want to make your case you need to find and cite an authoritative source. Simply repeating the same personal opinion over and over again does not make any difference. And undoing someone else's edit within half an hour just because the person hadn't responded yet on the talk page really doesn't help your case. Rpeh has pointed to just a couple of the dozens of examples on wikipedia where "are" is used in this exact situation. I'm not exactly sure who you're accusing of being a hypocrite. I don't see how it's hypocritical for me to ask that other people provide objective information to support their position, given that I regularly do exactly that when answering questions.

But more importantly... there's a general issue that's been raised here. You making the original edit is not a problem; you explaining the rationale for that edit is not a problem. What I do find problematic, however, is your response, which contained no new information and was not based upon any research (in contrast to Rpeh's response). It's not the first time that you have taken a position and continued to argue that position based purely on your opinion, despite multiple other people providing objective information that differs from your opinion. Why not try to learn from the experience and improve yourself instead of concluding that you're right but you'll "play along" any way? Why even make the edit in the first place if you're not willing to learn from the experience? --Nephele^Talk 14:01, 20 May 2008 (EDT)

No no no! It is me who is the hypocrite! Sorry - I didn't make that very clear. Of course I am willing to learn from experiences such as this, the only reason I never do is that I can be very argumentative and ignorant sometimes. I tend to stick to my guns too much, as you have probably learned by now. Especially if I have been using a particular form or fact for a very long time without ever being corrected before.
