Oblivion talk:Sabine Laul

Kinda joke?Edit

"At 2pm he draws her nsdjkadjsk and participates in an exhausting sparring session against Lum gro-Baroth." I think someone should correct it (I don't know what was her weapon). — Unsigned comment by 94.40.99.105 (talk) at 13:13 on 11 September 2010

Not a joke, but a mistake - by me. Thanks for pointing it out! --Krusty 13:44, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Weird BugEdit

This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered.

It happened the following to me: While doing the Mague's Guild quest line, at some point, I couldn't locate Sabine Laul, she wasn't in the Fighter's Guild. Finally I realized that she was "trapped" inside of "Fire and Steel". For some reason Rasheda was no longer available (I don't know if she is dead or what) and Fire and Steel was always locked, I opened the door using my lock-pick skills and Sabine Laul left Fire and Steel, going back to her usual routine. Rasheda was part of the world when I began the game, in theory Rasheda will never leave "Fire and Steel", I don't know how can Sabine Laul get into the shop, not leaving it before it closes, get trapped, and how did Rasheda banished, weird. 85.55.203.54 10:43, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Ike

Sabine visits Rasheda occasionally, so this probably isn't quite as weird as it seems. Bugs with locked doors are frequent, and usually resolve themselves after more gameplay. Robin Hoodtalk 01:57, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
True, however, in theory, Sabine will leave "Fire and Steel" before Rasheda locks the shop's door (at night) and Sabine can't (i guess) get into the shop if the door is locked, unless Sabine spawns or teleports there. Well, I used player.moveto 000234FC, the command should teleport me to Rasheda. It teleported me to "Fire and Steel", to the place where Rasheda should be at day, however Rasheda isn't there. Looks like Rasheda has banished. I have seen in the page for "Fire and Steel" that other players had problems with Rasheda being dead or missing for no reason. 85.55.197.55 19:03, 19 October 2010 (UTC) Ike
I have no explanation for what's killing Rasheda, but her death actually helps explain Sabine being locked in Fire and Steel. When you're far away and haven't accessed a location in a while, the game takes shortcuts. In doing the NPC schedules, we've seen it happen several times before that someone gets teleported into a locked area because of this. So Rasheda dies somehow, leaving her store locked, then Sabine gets teleported inside. The player then shows up in the area, so the game starts paying more attention to specifics, and tries to get her to walk out rather than just teleporting her out. Obviously, since the door is locked, this fails. In theory, if you play long enough without going to Fire and Steel (or perhaps near...only the game designers know the specifics), Sabine should teleport back out again to follow her schedule. Robin Hoodtalk 19:28, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Still, while I support RobinHood70's reply, if Rasheda dies for unknown reasons, it is worth investigating. I'll take a look later this evening. --Krusty 19:32, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
My computer crashed while I was investigating one possibility, and I don't have time to try again before I go to bed, so here it is in case you want to try: if it's raining at 6am, Honditar tries to go train at the Fire and Steel. I'm wondering if Rasheda either detects him as an intruder and attacks him (if he teleports in because you're not nearby or you unlock the door for him if you are), or if she just happens to get in his way, gets attacked, then dies. I wasn't even able to confirm that he was training before the crash, but that was the name of the package. Robin Hoodtalk 20:10, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
With respect to the anonymous user, keeping track of some 900 NPC's in Cyrodiil can be hard. I often forget why an NPC is nowhere to be found, then hours later I remember they died in some way (With my involvement). And Honditar's 'training' package there is only wandering around on a rainy day. Rasheda and Honditar both have an Aggression of 5 and Responsibility of 80, meaning they wouldn't attack each other easily and Honditar probably wouldn't break in. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 20:18, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

() I understand now RobinHood70, I wasn't aware of the teleportation thing, that explains the problem with Sabine. Rasheda's death looks like something more difficult to figure out, the "Fire and Steel" page has a similar discussion. Players reported that Rasheda was found dead over the bed, or would die when getting into the shop. Note: It is not a rant, it is just a small bug that just puzzled me for an hour, and happened after 200 in-game days. I think it was worth mentioning in case another player suffers the same problem. 85.55.197.55 21:07, 19 October 2010 (UTC) Ike

Well, it is me again. I have made a test with my saved game where Rasheda is gone. Using player.moveto 234fc will teleport me to "Fire and Steel", but Rasheda is gone. The only way to get Rasheda back is: PRID 234fc; then resurrect; then disable 234fc; finally enable 234fc (in that order) and Rasheda comes back so you can trade with her. You have to resurrect her, so she was dead for some reason (not because of me, that's sure) and her body was removed. 85.55.197.55 22:08, 19 October 2010 (UTC)Ike
Just checked the Honditar theory, and while it sounded plausible, that's not it. While it is true that he will enter the store at 6am on rainy days, he simply wanders around inside (no training btw) and Rasheda will not attack him. Still, I unlocked the door for him (I was inside when he arrived) and he doesn't possess a key to the shop, so he might try to trespass under different circumstances. To be continued tomorrow. --Krusty 22:33, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
I loaded a previous saved game where Rashida was gone but Sabine Laul was trapped in the store. I teleported inside "Fire and Steel" using player.moveto; then I noticed that Sabine Laul was hurt (aprox. 50% life) and also noticed her big Warhammer. I suspect that It was Sabine Laul who teleported or got inside the shop just when it was being closed, or maybe teleported too near from Rashida, provocking the fight and killing Rashida. 85.55.197.55 22:54, 19 October 2010 (UTC) Ike
I think Sabine have a hard time leaving the place. When I arrived to check up on Honditar, I unlocked the shop at 3am in the morning and Sabine left when I arrived. This is pretty typical behavior if you are using the fast-travel and wait features but I have never seen a customer being unable to leave like that, almost as if she was trapped inside. I’ll try to do some more testing tomorrow, but I’m not really sure what to test – suggestions are welcome. --Krusty 23:14, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
I suspect that Rashida's death is just another random problem with NPCs teleporting and spawning. Sabine can't leave Fire and Steel if Sabine is inside and the door is locked, she just stands there in the middle of the shop looking at the door, unless you unlock the door from outside, is that normal? 85.55.197.55 12:58, 20 October 2010 (UTC) Ike
like I said, it is pretty common for costumers to run into problems getting out of a place if you use the wait-feature. If Sabine is strolling around inside Fire and Steel and you use the wait feature (standing outside the shop) and "land" after 8pm, it is likely that Sabine will be trapped inside when Rasheda locks the door. Still, I can't think of any other examples right now - and that is what puzzles me. --Krusty 13:41, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Tranks, understood. I have done a bit more research. Looks like, since Sabine should leave Fire and Steel at 8pm and Rasheda locks the door at 8 pm, Sabine can get trapped all night very often. If you wait 1 hour multiple times inside the shop, you will see Sabine getting into the shop at 7:20 pm (i.e.) and if you then leave the shop i.e. at 8:50 pm the door will be locked and Sabine will be trapped inside, because after waiting until past 8pm Sabine is still here (However, Rasheda doesn't seem to attack Sabine because of that). In the past I had random problems with Sabine not going to the Figher's guild for a 2-3 days, so I guess that Sabine does get trapped inside Fire and Steel quite often. In order to not get trapped so often Sabine should prolly go to the shop at 5pm and left it at 7pm. Rasheda's death is still a mistery to me. Btw, after using the resurrect and enable commands Rasheda seems to work 100% ok: you can buy and sell, training quest works... 85.55.197.55 13:47, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Ike

() Ah, Sabine leaves at 8pm - then it makes perfect sense that she has a habit of staying inside Fire and Steel overnight. Still, you mention that she's been locked up for several days, which is strange, since she should head back to the guildhall when Rasheda unlocks the door at 8am. I think this warrants a note on Sabine's page, actually. As for Rhaseda's mysterious death, I have absolutely no idea. We've ruled out Honditar - and I don't expect Sabine to get aggressive because she can't leave for the Chapel at 6am, nor can I check it because I can't enter the store without unlocking the door. Only thing I can do is keep checking up on her when I visit Chorrol - but then again, I have done that a lot in the past and I have never experienced any problems whatsoever. --Krusty 14:06, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

After showing up a few times at ~3am to corrol and then waiting until after 8am for the shops to open I got this glitch too and after reading the above I'm wondering if it's possible that Rasheda and Sabine are getting into a fight because Sabine is trepassing when she gets locked in the store overnight? In a fight between the 2 of them Sabine looks to be the one who would win and would also explain why Sabine had lost 50% of her health too. Would giving Sabine a key to Fire and Steel at least eliminate her getting stuck inside even if she's not the reason Rasheda is dying?Ewolfg1 (talk) 00:18, 3 November 2012 (GMT)

Sabine Laul: Locked in Fire and SteelEdit

So, I was looking for Sabine Laul (for a quest), and the marker kept pointing for me to go over to Fire and Steel. The door was locked, so I waited outside (a whole 24 hours). It never unlocked, so I broke in. Rasheda instantly collapsed on the floor (dead) and Sabine walked away since the door was now unlocked.

I read in another section of this site that Sabine frequents Fire and Steel. Would it be possible that Sabine was locked inside before getting a chance to leave? Then being considered a trespasser, getting attacked by Rasheda and killing her? Therefore getting stuck in the now-locked Fire and Steel? — Unsigned comment by 79.103.224.164 (talk) at 23:10 on 5 January 2016 (GMT)

Interesting...I suppose it's possible, but I don't think it's terribly likely. I know that if an NPC gets caught stealing something, that NPC will get attacked, but I've never heard of them being in stores after hours. Sabine has a pretty decent responsibility value too, so she shouldn't be stealing from anyone. There are a few other situations I can envision that may have led to what you're describing, but there wouldn't be any way to prove that they happened. Do you have any mods installed that could have caused this? Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 15:16, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
I run the game with DLCs included: Horse Armor Pack, Spell Tomes, Knights of the Nine, The Orrery, The Wizard's Tower, The Thieves Den, Mehrunes' Razor, The Vile Lair, Shivering Isles, The Fighter's Stronghold.
Well, I didn't think Sabine had to steal anything to get attacked. I have seen NPCs attack me just for being in their store after closing hours. Also I have seen NPCs getting stuck in an eldless "chat" loop with each other (happens quite often), where they say the same thing over and over again for hours on end, stopping only when I interrupt them.
I mean, I can think of a ton of ways for her to get locked in the room. What bothers me is the conditions required for the death of Rasheda. I can only speculate "aggression because of trespassing". If she just spawns dead due to a mod, then... well, I wouldn't know. — Unsigned comment by 79.103.224.164 (talk) at 15:44 on 6 January 2016 (UTC)
