Merchant's ChestEdit

i picked orrin's pocket, but he only has the castle key. and his strongbox says "orrins's chest" and that it needs a key. where can i find his key??? — Unsigned comment by 69.157.6.201 (talk)

There is no key for Orrin's Chest. You can only get the items in the chest by buying them from Orrin. --NepheleTalk 11:47, 23 June 2007 (EDT)
other shop owners don't have perma-locked chests in their stores/homes. you could be right, but if you are then it makes very little sense. thanks for the quick reply. --User:boddah 1:13, 24 June 2007 (EDT)
Actually, almost every merchant does have one or more permanently locked chests in their store. But in most cases, the merchant chests are hidden under the floor or in other areas that can only be accessed using the tcl console command. There are many reasons why those merchant chests exist. One reason is to make some items (especially extra-valuable items such as Unique Items) only available if you're willing to pay the merchant. And for fences, without permanently locked chests thieves would just immediately steal all their fenced items back and sell them to the fence infinite times. You can't obtain everything in the game through thievery alone.
Furthermore, there is definitely no key to unlock Orrin's Chest: the construction set shows what key will open each and every locked item in the game, and there is no key listed for Orrin's Chest. --NepheleTalk 01:52, 24 June 2007 (EDT)

Schedule?Edit

Could someone post on when Orrin is in certain locations. I find it hard tracking him down everytime I need to sell something expensive. — Unsigned comment by 137.186.170.162 (talk) on 23 August 2007

Every time I go to sell something to him, he is always in his blacksmithing room. I usually come during the night when he is sleeping because I'm a vampire and it is kind of a killing two birds with one stone deal. But yeah, every time I go to see him day or night he is always there. — Unsigned comment by 75.46.26.219 (talk) on 19 December 2007
The only time he's away from that room is between 8pm and midnight, when he goes to the servants' quarters for a formal meal. —RpehTCE 01:53, 20 December 2007 (EST)

Orrin's Chest.Edit

Would there be a way to create a key to open Orrin's Chest? — Unsigned comment by 69.247.80.107 (talk) on 29 October 2008

Nope. You can open it with the console if you're on the PC though. Orrin's inventory is stored in there. –RpehTCE 17:33, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

Keep him where u want him.Edit

If you want to steal everything in the smithy, you can lock him in the secret passage. you have to do a little pushing but even if the door is open (he cant open it btw) he cant move, allowing you to steal everything in the smithy. Mikeyboy52 14:46, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Or you can just wait until he is sleeping or like the four hours he is gone........ — Unsigned comment by 64.108.112.180 (talk) at 12:40 on 28 April 2010

I lost OrrinEdit

WTF Seriously he is stuck i the roof and a can f***ing talk to him to fence my stuff or buy his stuff Help — Unsigned comment by 90.213.88.178 (talk)

A little more detail please? Try waiting for a day. If he is still stuck, go away from Anvil for a few days and come back, he will probably become unstuck as the building resets. Vesna 16:22, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Orrin's NoteEdit

There's a note on Orrins desk. In the note it says something along the lines of: "walk to end of the street turn left take the next right if you see the house with the fallen roof you've gone too far know twice, wait, knock again they'll let you in make sure you have the money." What is this referring to? And also, Where is this referring to? — Unsigned comment by 58.110.122.14 (talk) on 17 August 2010

This note. It doesn't refer to anything, anywhere. It's just background. rpeh •TCE 09:04, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Orrin DeadEdit

Orrin died what should I do? — Unsigned comment by Superman15 (talkcontribs) on 20 August 2010

orrin hates vampiresEdit

i am a vampire and when i talk to orrin he says "you wont get my blood you filthy beast" or "no no! get away from me", the only time ican fence and actually talk to him is when hes sitting in the chair behind the door behind te counter in the smithy. Lindenbrock 21:55, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Either charm him so that his disposition is 100, or feed so that you're not at 100% vampirism. Either should solve the problem. Robin Hoodtalk 02:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Missing DialogueEdit

Here's a few lines I couldn't trigger in-game. I'm not sure they are important enough to mention on the page, so I'll put them here for now.

  • You must be the one. (supposed to be his 'hello' during Taking Care of Lex)
  • There are guards at the top of the stairs. Be as quiet as you can. (supposed to be his 'goodbye' after showing the secret entrance)

--Krusty 08:07, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

The first one is a bit weird, he'll only say it at stage ten of the quest and only once when he sees you. I'm not sure if it is entirely impossible, but it isn't likely to be heard. I don't believe the second one is possible to achieve, it once again will only be said at stage ten and only once. The problem with this is that you're supposed to be at stage thirteen when he's supposed to say this, I don't see a way it could happen. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 08:16, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick update. I tested it, and the first line can be heard in-game, although under rare circumstances. I made a note of both of them. --Krusty 08:52, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
I've definitely heard the second line before. Maybe the unofficial patch affects it? —Legoless (talk) 17:28, 8 August 2013 (GMT)
