Orcs and Willpower?Edit

Willpower? What does willpower have to do with Orcs?

It says for male 10+ Willpower. — Unsigned comment by 85.139.13.249 (talk) on 5. October 2008

It means that all Orc characters will have a bonus of 10 points added to their willpower attribute. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 04:12, 5 October 2008 (EDT)
Yeah i know that, but orcs? Arent them brutes with big strength and Endurance? Why give 10 bonus to willpower? — Unsigned comment by 85.139.13.249 (talk) on 5. October 2008
Willpower. Force of character. Determination. Call it what you will, but I'd say Orcs have it in spades. –RpehTCE 06:15, 5 October 2008 (EDT)

Consumed not assumedEdit

You typed in assumed after Boethia instead of consumed, in the line about how the orcs are fabled to have come to be.Keyser Soze 03:42, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

No, that's correct - the story about Boethiah eating Trinimac is in the next line. See Lore:Trinimac for more information. –RpehTCE 04:27, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Shingro gra-GubbugEdit

Orc names always follow a strict format, being that they have a main name, and a gender prefix preceding a last name. For example, Burz gro-Kash, or Shingro gra-Gubbug. as far as i know, Shingro gra-Gubbug isn't a real person. (I searched her, and her name doesn't appear anywhere except here...maybe a user added their name?) Im going to change it to a real oblivion orc female.--Arch-Mage Matt 22:32, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

(Changed it to Snak gra-Bura)--Arch-Mage Matt 22:35, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Lord Sign OrcsEdit

Shouldn't it be noted that the Orc magic resistance essentially cancels out the Lord sign's fire weakness? 72.227.97.71 08:39, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

No. If you do then you'll have to provide notes for every Birthsign on every Race page, which is just redundant. Besides this type of information is found here. --173.23.166.73 23:59, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Orc NamesEdit

I'm almost positive that I've seen something, somewhere, along these lines: Orcs are given a personal name, then gro- or gra- depending on sex, then the name of their father or mother, again sex-dependent. For example, Burz gro-Khash's name would be a personal name (Burz), gro- because he's a male, and Khash would be his father's personal name. Can anyone confirm this, or am I just crazy? --TennysonXII 04:09, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, I found it at Lore:Orc Names. Is there an in-universe source for this, though? --TennysonXII 05:13, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I spent some time looking after your first post and couldn't find a book. The gro- gra- thing is pretty clear when you look at orc names and genders, and I assume the cases of known relationships between orcs were used but I'm not sure. rpeh •TCE 06:25, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I've seen on a polish TES site (not sure where did they dig that up from) that X gro-Y and X gra-Y means X, son of Y and X, daughter of Y.--83.20.43.46 20:18, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
I know im really late but I don't think this is true, because in Oblivion The Gray Prince is named Agronak gro-Malog, while due to his quest,Oblivion:Origin of the Gray Prince, we know his father's name and it definitely isn't Malog 108.209.77.138 06:49, 19 February 2015 (GMT)

MageEdit

I got a (maybe a stupid one) question. Can orc's be a mage. If the answer is yes. What would be the best for him to practise? destruction spels?

Yes an Orc can be a mage and practice any school of magic you want. An Orc has no particular benefits towards being a mage since it has no starting skill boosts in any school, but this can be seen as an advantage to players who wish to raise their character level as high as possible. Orc ProvinceEdit

What province of tamriel do orcs actually come from — Unsigned comment by 68.96.253.39 (talk) at 03:49 on 3 March 2011 (UTC)

It depends on what you're calling "actually". Orcs hail (I like this word, he-he) from Wrothgarian Mountains. Their main city is Orsinium, and it located in province of High Rock. And why didn't you go to this page? Phoenix Neko 05:36, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Orcs don't come from anywhere. They've always been nomads. Orsinium is their "home", but it's been sacked twice. --Legoless 22:28, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
