ChestEdit

Just a hint: in the corner of the Great Welkynd Stone chamber, up on a dais which can only be reached by jumping from the Great Welkynd Stone Platform, there's a rather neat chest wielding quite some reward. Don't know the chest type, but it contained a Longsword of Flames, some bit of Elven Armour and ~300 Gold for me (at level 16). — Unsigned comment by 80.135.90.252 (talk) at 15:36 on 3 September 2007‎

I imagine that's one of the "2 boss-level Ayleid Reliquaries (Undead variety; both locked) at B" mentioned in the text. --RpehTalk 02:19, 5 September 2007 (EDT)

Vampires?Edit

There is a note in the Vampire Dungeons list page that says Miscarcand Sel Vanua has vampires, I've never encountered any nor does the page say it. Maybe someone could confirm and update either page accordingly? (Either remove the note from Vampire Dungeons or add the specifics) --85.62.18.3 17:24, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

What Vampire Dungeons says is that Miscarcand Sel Vanua contains a Vampire Boss chest. Which is also what the Miscarcand article states (specifically a boss-level Ayleid Reliquary). So there's no discrepancy and nothing I can see that needs to be fixed. --NepheleTalk 18:29, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
Ah right, I was coming in as a layman looking for places to hunt Vampires and was puzzled why Miscarcand was on the list but didn't have Vampires when I got the the level it tells you to go to - quote "(only zone Miscarcand, Sel Vanua)", whether a chest is marked for zombies, ghosts or vampires doesn't really make much odds because I can't kill it =p --85.62.18.3 22:13, 27 October 2007 (EDT)
If there's no vampires it shouldn't be listed or mentioned on the Vampire Dungeon page. Unless a vampire jumps out of this "Vampire boss chest". 68.166.172.55 08:14, 18 September 2008 (EDT)

Simple Walkthrough CreatedEdit

Its not much, but hopefully can be expanded upon as a user requested a walkthrough for this area. I had a tiny bit of trouble finding one of the activation switches, and thought it might be handy to have that information posted on here. Edit away, 66.222.235.78 05:28, 17 January 2008 (EST) KermEd

It's a start but, we have a guideline on our wiki that states that articles should be similar to an encyclopedia in style. In particular, this means that singular first person ("I", "me") and story-telling should be avoided when writing articles. thanks anyway! Volanaro 05:33, 17 January 2008 (EST)
I'm not to sure why someone requested a walkthrough for this crawl anyways, its pretty straight foreward. 66.222.235.78 20:52, 17 January 2008 (EST) KermEd
We are trying to add walkthroughs for all dungeons in Oblivion, in part to make sure that information such as where to find the activation switches is provided. The walkthroughs aren't supposed to be detailed, but rather should just cover the facts that aren't already provided by the maps and lists. If you'd like to help out with more walkthroughs, there are a lot that need to be done, and the help would be welcome :) I'd recommend reading over Walkthrough information for more details on what we're looking for (and links to examples of completed walkthroughs). --NepheleTalk 21:28, 17 January 2008 (EST)

Slaughterfish ContainersEdit

Do the slaughterfish on the fire and in the box outside respawn or reset? If not, they would make very useful portable containers, seeing how little they weigh. 70.255.189.25 17:42, 1 February 2008 (EST)

Answered my own question: they do NOT respawn. These make very useful outdoor portable containers. I'll update the containers page to state such. Colovian 15:49, 9 February 2008 (EST)

Taking up residence?Edit

Since all enemies in this dungeon are non-respawning, it seems to me that you could take up residence here. It would be suitable for role playing many different types of characters, not the least mages. The lack of safe containers could be a problem, though. Now, since I haven't seen this possibility being suggested elsewhere on the page (which could well be a result of insufficient browsing on my part), I wonder whether there is some huge disadvantage to this plan, that I have missed.--Quill 19:00, 18 February 2008 (EST)

You're free to set up residence anywhere you like in the game. However, our Houses page is only for places that contain safe containers. --NepheleTalk 01:22, 25 February 2008 (EST)
Well, I'm content with it being noted here on this talk page that Miscarcand is probably a better bet for residential purposes than any other Ayleid ruin, since the enemies are non-respawning. Never meant it to be defined as a house in the strict UESP sense, but I can see why you understood my comment that way. Sorry for being unclear.--Quill 18:41, 6 March 2008 (EST)
I never knew Miscarcand creature's were no-respawning as just now i encountered skeletons, zombines and goblins...can i has explanation? Caboose 16:08, 20 March 2008 (EDT)
Maybe you didn't kill them first time round. 86.44.221.166 16:20, 30 May 2009 (EDT)

Misplaced Edit Link and SubpageEdit

Right after the first sentence, there is an edit section link right between it and the next sentence. I clicked on it and it took me to a subpage, ./Description. I also tried to edit the whole page and find the source of this, but instead there's no beginning section like in the real page. Can anyone explain what's causing this?—Sam324 21:25, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

What exactly are you trying to edit? If you want to edit the description, i.e., the line of text that reads "A medium Ayleid ruin between Skingrad and Kvatch containing undead and goblins (quest-related)" then use the first link you mentioned, and edit the /Description subpage. If you want to edit some other part of the page, then edit the whole page. --NepheleTalk 23:33, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

Article/Category SuggestionEdit

This page in particular gives me an idea for an article or perhaps a category called "Places that are not recommended you enter/explore until you have the appropriate quest." Well, that's not very concise but you know what I mean. I think it would be very helpful to people like me who like to walk everywhere and explore every dungeon they come across, know what I mean? Any thoughts? Kronos o 09:41, 15 February 2009 (EST)

I think the notes make it clear you sholdn't go into it until you need to. Maybe you should open up the wiki page for each dungeon before you enter in case you're afraid of ruining anything (like Lost Boy Cavern for instance - it was fun collecting all the notes and to finally come to the lich... to find he couldn't be touched). 86.44.221.166 16:23, 30 May 2009 (EDT)

The ground disappears at the exterior entrance?Edit

When finding miscarcand on my character, trying to enter miscarcand always fail. This is because the ground to the exterior entrance disappears, like using the tcl command (i think). Can anyone tell me if its a rare occurence or if its just something wrong on this character/disk. Calonderiel 14:43, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Moved NoteEdit

  • There is a door not implemented on the map on the way from E to the intersection area between the Great Welkynd Stone and J which the player would progress will be locked into Very Hard levels to prevent the player to escape.

This was added by an anon user, in a series of three edits, just under the bullet list of what happens after you pick up the Great Welkynd Stone. I can't make heads or tails of it myself but if anyone can interpret what is said, and it is of use to the article, feel free to wrangle it and add it back in. likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 02:55, 30 January 2014 (GMT)
