Oblivion talk:Fort Horunn

A little to the west of the entrance of Fort Horunn, you find three heavily locked chests. They all contain potions.

Confirmed, Two Bandit healing chests and a wilderness chest are hidden the rocks just to the west of the fort entrance, on vanilla Oblivion.

Chest'sEdit

There are 3 chests. 2 hard locks and 1 very hard in the wilderness chest area. Used multiple characters with variable levels.— Unsigned comment by 71.195.89.207 (talk) on 3 May 2009

On all of the dungeon pages, for the both the interiors and exteriors, we only list chests that contain items other than clutter. The chest with a hard lock is just a WildernessChest02 -- a non-respawning chest that contains clutter. There's a fourth, unlocked chest near the fort, too, but it's a WildernessChest01 -- just another variety of non-respawning chest that contains clutter. There's no reason for players to go out of their way to search for either of these chests (let alone waste the lockpicks to open the locked one), so why should we describe the chests or add them to the map? Also, FWIW, the locks on all of the chests you mention are leveled (for level one characters, there will be one average lock, one hard lock, and one very hard lock), which is why the article does not specify the lock level for the two listed chests. --NepheleTalk 13:14, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

I changed the mention concerning the chests near the entrances to three.MotrinXtraFort 20:51, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

And I reverted them specifically for the reasons mentioned by Nephele above. –Elliot talk 21:22, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
This is a perfect example of unintended consequences. Only mentioning useful things becomes, in this case, less useful than mentioning the useless chest with the hard lock that has inconsequential loot, so that it can be avoided. I trust that my edit covers two of the three concerns mentioned above (avoiding clutter & the fact that the locks are levelled). The third, that players would have to go out of their way, is mistaken; the three chests are so close together, in fact, that identifying the clutter chest is a problem. What is going to happen over and over again, if we do not mention that there are three, is people reverting the text to say three. If you really want to save storage bytes, make edits that will not be reverted; each and every edit to an article uses up a goodly percentage of that article's entire byte storage, in the form of edit History, to say nothing of the storage of the talk page and edit history thereof. My edit solves the problem of perceived accuracy, and tells the player about the clutter chest, so they can deal with it as they see fit. Anarchangel 19:31, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Dead Tresure HunterEdit

I was just in there the tresure hunter carries Full fur minus the boots and an iron mace. — Unsigned comment by 71.122.114.95 (talk) at 18:56 on 15 May 2011

What he carries depends on your level. JackTurbo95 17:57, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
It doesn't, actually. It depends on the dead adventurer's level, which is always level 1. Legoless 19:10, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah! Damn I remember reading that , it was one of the first things I read about Oblivion.... JackTurbo95 19:20, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Oops, I forgot to think go that too, but anyway, while it will always be level 1 in quality, the lists determine chance. He has 100% of cuirass, but less on the other armor, so there are multiple possible combinations. --DKong27 Talk Cont 22:56, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
