Oblivion talk:Fort Caractacus

Quest specific?Edit

I do not find this fort really quest-specific/related, because Angmar is in the exterior, and the conjurers have nothing to do with it. — Unsigned comment by ‎Moersleuteltje (talkcontribs) at 19:52 on 13 March 2008

I know what you mean, but the Fort consists of both the exterior and the interior, so even if only the exterior is quest-related, it's worth mentioning. –RpehTCE 17:14, 13 March 2008 (EDT)
I've gone ahead and made a little edit which should clarify the point in question. I was confused as well by the phrasing - it seemed to imply that the conjurers within have something to do with the quest. Now, it should be more clear. Sorry, if this seems nit-picky (and sorry for necroing this old topic) -Meisterdieb (talk) 17:15, 14 March 2013 (GMT)
I actually just undid your edit. All of the pages have it at the end of the sentence, and it is mainly important for when the {{Place Link}} template is called on other pages. We put it at the end of the sentence on purpose, and it really needs to stay there. You could possibly clarify it in the opening paragraph, but the quest related part needs to be at the end. Conjurers or Daedra?Edit

The inhabitants seem to be Daedra all the time - tested on level 22, saved before entry and repeatedly entered the dungeon. Anyone having a similar experience? — Unsigned comment by 145.97.194.163 (talk) at 20:21 on 18 September 2010

It's probably just a matter of luck...and the random number generator in Oblivion not being the greatest. It should be about 50/50 whether you get a Conjurer or a Daedra at each of the three spawn locations. Saving outside the fort and entering it repeatedly, I got:
  1. all Daedra;
  2. one Conjurer, two Daedra;
  3. two Conjurers, one Daedra.
That's a little Daedra-heavy, but within the boundaries of what you'd expect for randomness. Robin Hoodtalk 21:14, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Alchemical AssetsEdit

I noticed the alchemy materials weren't described as being novice, apprentice, journeymen, expert, or master. Do the items randomize or are they just novice?--Obliviongamer 21:03, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

They are all novice. mxk101Talk 21:39, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Real-life referenceEdit

Guessing the name of the Fort is from the Rolf Harris song "Court of King Caractacus". Unsure on whether this should be mentioned in the article — Unsigned comment by 110.175.222.128 (talk) at 08:10 on 26 December 2011

Actually, if it's a reference to anything, it would probably be the original Cara(c)tacus, but without more resemblances to either the song or the person, it would be considered just a name someone thought was neat, or possibly even a coincidence that someone imagined a name that matches that of a real-life person. If there are other comparisons to be drawn, the Easter Eggs page would be the place to bring it up, not the article. Robin Hoodtalk 07:15, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
