Oblivion talk:Broken Vows

Dark Brotherhood AssassinEdit

Why is it that no one is discussing the fact that the target seems to be an assassin for the Dark Brotherhood himself? In the locked barrel in the corner of the downstairs room you will find a full set of Dark Brotherhood clothing and a copy of the five tenents. He is also reading an assassins book in his training room. What's the link?

When you confont him and say that "...Sithis sent you..." he dosen't say anything noteworthy like - "oh yeah Sithis and I are good buddies too." — Unsigned comment by Yitido (talkcontribs)

Well, assuming you follow the quest line through to the end, you'll discover after killing the guy in Bravil that someone has been giving you false orders, and everyone you take out after the Draconis family members are all Speakers and Silencers of the Black Hand. This sets up the following quest. That's probably why they aren't discussing it. QuillanTalk 22:23, 21 July 2006 (EDT)

SpoilersEdit

I removed the spoilers. They add nothing to the article and it kind of defeats the purpose of the plot twist... 68.166.64.77 16:20, 6 February 2008 (EST)

Actually, the spoilers are there for when people do the quest before reading the walkthrough, and get confused because they find evidence to suggest that J'Ghasta is a member of the Dark Brotherhood. And anyway, the 'plot twist' isn't really all that unexpected, if you've been paying attention during the quest line (in my opinion). --Gaebrial 06:36, 7 February 2008 (EST)
That makes no sense. If they're confused it will all be made clear at the conclusion of the quest line. It seems clear to me it was meant to cause a little confusion. And it doesn't matter how good or unexpected the twist is, it's a twist, put there for the sake of the story and there's no reason to spoil it ahead of time. I'm removing it again. 68.166.66.230 15:38, 12 February 2008 (EST)
I agree. This really isn't something that people should be warned about before the plot unfolds. I don't see anything wrong with allowing players to draw their own conclusions about where the story might be headed. Having the information on J'Ghasta's page should be sufficient. --Eshetalk17:09, 12 February 2008 (EST)

Dead Drop LocationsEdit

I know they are a bit out of the way, but still a nifty place to hide certain items. Anyone know if these locations are safe to store items in? I wouldnt imagine that they respawn or that NPCs would ever get in them... — Unsigned comment by 209.134.75.234 (talk)

They're all safe, yes. After all it wouldn't be very helpful if you couldn't pick up your orders because the container had respawned. –RpehTCE 06:25, 16 May 2008 (EDT)

Black Hand Robe and HoodEdit

You can find these in the locked keg on the bottom floor. What I wanted to know if it was possible to make them "unstolen". I know with items that have a sell price other than 0 you can sell them to a fence and then buy them back effectively making them "unstolen" for a fee. The problem with the Black Hand Robe and Hood is that their sell price is 0 so if you give them away to the fence they don't appear in their inventory. Does anyone know how to solve this / is it possible?--BigRussian 14:21, 13 July 2008 (EDT)

You could do the trick in the Glitcches[[1]] section on clear stolen falg on apparel, however you would need to do the remainder of the DB quests — Unsigned comment by Critias (talkcontribs) at 21:35 on 14 December 2010

Picking J'Ghasta's PocketEdit

(moved from the article)

Unknown if this is a bug, after you enter J'Ghastas Training Room I crouched and when he was going towards me to talk I accidently pressed A to pickpocket. He just said that it didn´t matter as he didn´t need it and went back to the room sitting on a chair making him a easy kill.

Not a bug, if an NPC has a high enough disposition towards the player they won't try taking back whatever you pickpocketed. --Dremora Lord 18:42, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Not to mention his 0 responsibility. Razor 18:47, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

in the broken vows quest if you find red arrows in the kagights house go ot basement and look where the cloths are on the floor and youll find a hidden door to the training rrom — Unsigned comment by 74.109.12.62 (talk) at 22:01 on 27 June 2011
I had the same issue, don't worry about it. just find the hidden door under the clothes, you'll be fine. — Unsigned comment by 174.126.46.165 (talk) at 03:22 on 5 October 2011
