Shield or Aegis Ring?Edit

Sorry, SerC - I made the addition to your Aryarie page without noticing the Bug-section. Still, I finished the quest ages ago and now she carries an unenchanted "Shield Ring". On the other hand, in my Lvl 2 game, she carries around a Strawberry and some gold! Seems a bit strange to me... Krusty 11:43, 18 March 2009 (EDT)

It's still a bit unclear, what she carries around. THIS page describes it one way, and THIS page describes it as another item. We should probably get our facts clear on all three pages, and I think it's up to the CS to solve the mystery. Also, it doesn't seem like the ring even exists prior to the More Unfinished Business Quest (see my inventory description for my lvl 2 character above), which should be mentioned on her page as well, as soon as it has been checked in the CS. Oh, and can be solve the "ring puzzle" while we're at it? Or at least make the necessary corrections to the pages linked to above? --Krusty 13:54, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Schedule Trouble!Edit

So, I finally checked out Aryarie's schedule, and it seems like we have some differences from what was written originally from the CS. I have checked with my lvl 38, lvl 7 and lvl 1 characters, and on all accounts, the in-game schedule looked like this (which should be considered her "normal" schedule):

BEFORE and AFTER the quest:
  • 8am: Gets out of bed, wanders the ground floor
  • 11am: Goes upstairs and stands on what appears to be a fixed spot near the bed in the northeastern bedroom.
  • 3pm: Heads downstairs again, wanders around
  • 8pm: Eats her dinner
  • 10pm: Goes to bed
DURING the quest:
When I loaded my save-game with the related quest started, she would stick perfectly to what was written as her "normal" schedule (with her eating at 1pm as written and wandering around the ground floor all day). Seems like they have been switched somehow. Question is: Do we have a bug here? --Krusty 13:52, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
You're right Krusty! Sorry for taking so long! I checked the schedule and indeed I had gotten the two AI packages mixed up ;) I changed it and it should now be ready to check! --SerCenKing Talk 08:31, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
I checked before and after the quest, and she does exactly as written. --Veckatimest 16:47, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
She will, in my game at least, ALWAYS stand on the fixed spot in the room on the second floor before and after the quest - not "For the next four hours she will either be in a room on the second floor or close to the alchemical counter on the first." This phenomenon needs some more CS checking and the description needs to be a bit more precise, because the spot really is fixed. --Krusty 17:20, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh yeah, sorry I didn't notice that. I tested four days in a row, and I think you're right, as she only ever stood in one spot by a bed, fixed to the spot.It may need more testing though, and I'll watch her for longer to see if she repeats this, and try pushing her and seeing if she moves back again. --Veckatimest 18:04, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I just took a quick look at her again - with two different leveled characters - and she will always stand by that bed in the northeastern bedroom. If you push her, she will just walk back to the same spot. I'm aware that two AI packages collide at this time of the day and we need some kind of bug description or something - but we need the CS wizards for that. --Krusty 18:09, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Yep, I can confirm that I have the same results with the fixed spot. I also tested the location six more times and she has always gone upstairs. I'm going to remove my checked tag, as it seems there is more to investigate. --Veckatimest 18:33, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, you didn't necessarily have to take your name off - I have already noted the "bug" a long time ago on this useful page, just in case we forgot about it. The rest of the schedule is, as you already observed, correct - the page just needs a bug note. Ah well, better wait with the signing until the page is perfect. --Krusty 19:28, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Ok so I've given her another check and here is what I found:
  • We need a bug detailing her 1pm-3pm lunch package, which she skips when the related quest is not active - I can do that quickly.
  • The two conflicting "wander" packages are more complex. They are both linked to an "Aryarie Script" by a "randomvar". Basically, at midnight the script kicks into action a process by which Aryarie picks a random percentage and carries out the action that is linked that percentage.
    • The upstairs one has randomvar <= 33
    • The downstairs one has randomvar <= 66
Now from my modest randomvar skills (which I admit aren't too strong) I'm not even sure that those values represent %s. Because in that case, what happens when you have an integer above 66? It also doesn't seem to be like "chancenone", because that would give a 33% chance of the alchemy package being picked. At the moment, the only real explanation I can find is that the randomvars actually don't influence the choice, and that the 2nd floor bedroom package is chosen because it's higher up on the loading list. Still, I'd appreciate if rpeh or RH could double check this.
Oh, and yes she will stand still and fixed on a spot because her wandering radius is 0. The stop in particular is in the northern room, right next to the foot of the bed, on the left side. --SerCenKing Talk 22:04, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

() The problem here is that the randomvar should be changed during the script for a GetRandomPercent variable, however this never happens. Specifically, the script is supposed to change the randomvar for the GetRandomPercent at 12am, which in turn should make the package have a 33% percent of occuring (for the upstairs one) or 66% for the alchemy lab one. However, these times are outside of the ones at which the packages activate, which causes her to simply continue to do what she was supposed to in the first place, which is wander around her room upstairs.

The only other condition that renders this packages inactive is that as long as the FG quest is active she won't take any of these actions, which is why she follows the indicated schedule instead. --S'drassa T2M 03:09, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
