Oblivion Mod talk:Wrye Bash

How to open it?Edit

mm.... Im running Vista if that affects anything... so how in the world do you even start the program!!!!!???? Nothing in start bar, searched my hard disk for 'wrye' only returned the setup file. Absolutely insane, this is driving me crazy, do I have to type something in the command console or something? Because even though I've installed wrye there is *no* sign of it on my computer. --Anon 18:21, 18 January 2009 (GMT)

It's explained in the manual (which also comes with the download). Note that aside from installation you will need to poke around in the manual at least a bit in order to understand how to use Wrye Bash.
Any further questions should be posted on the current relz topic -- but again be sure to read and follow manual first -- I'm notorious for having limited patience with questions that are already covered. --Wrye 14:02, 18 January 2009 (EST)

Wrye Bash WishingEdit

your wrye bash is cool but it need some feature more
i wish you work on possibility of linking lootlists and item leveled lists in bash patch options
for example i have few alchemical mods whichch one of adds goblin's bone ingredient which disappears from goblins' loot during overhaul it's loot in other mod
simply please add it to your wrye bash :)

Feature requests should be made on the Bash Relz topic (current). --Wrye 16:58, 14 February 2008 (EST)

A ”bug”Edit

There’s no decent way to contact without hassle, so this shall do...

With Wine(yep, not Windows) there is something with this row. Commenting this out will make the gui to pop. Now, I don’t say this is bug in the code, but I have no idea what this should do? Before Wrye Bash has worked ”well” with Wine.

I don't know what's happening here, I've downloaded and installed Wyre Bash and Python 2.5.2, the trouble is it just refuses to start, it just sits there doing nothing, I cannot get any form of dump from it, nor do I get any error messages. It just plain refuses to start. Has anyone got any idea what I could have done wrong? My machine is a Windows XP x64 64 bit O/S, CPU is AMD2.2GHz dual core, 2Gb DDR3 RAM, updated Direct X 9.0c (updated today), soundcard is a Creative labs Audigy 2 ZS - drivers up to date. Graphics card is an Asus nVidia 6500GT 512Mb DDR2 GRAM, drivers up to date. 86.170.208.232 14:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

As the article page says:
This is not really the place to ask questions -- that's best done on the forums. Rather, this is the place to put the answers to frequently answered questions that aren't already covered in the Wrye Bash readme.
Please use the official forums (and current relz/help topic) for questions, etc. Of the two questions above: 1) Wine is generally not supported. Users are on their own for it. The main problem is likely the use of Internet explorer web browser display in several places, however changing that would require an amount of work. 2) General "failed to start" is best answered by checking the readme (and notes here) carefully, and then if still having problems, visiting the official forums.
