Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Once you have an Illusion skill of 70, speak with Carahil of the Anvil Mages Guild or Kud-Ei of the Bravil Mages Guild.
  2. Find and bring back 10 Welkynd Stones for Martina Floria at the Arcane University in order to receive training.

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

The Welkynd StonesEdit

Both Carahil and Kud-Ei will provide you the master training reference necessary to start this quest, even though the latter doesn't actually offer Advanced training.

Speak with Martina Floria to find that she requires 10 Welkynd Stones in order to begin training. The Welkynd Stone article provides a complete list of locations where Welkynd Stones can be found. Note that Welkynd Stones do not respawn without the Knights of the Nine plug-in, and are therefore a limited resource. If you have already used up all the available Welkynd Stones, you will be unable to receive training without using either the Console or the duplicate items glitch.

Since she never leaves the Chironasium, it is impossible to receive training unless you are an Apprentice of the Mages Guild, and therefore have access to the University. It is also impossible if you are permanently expelled from the guild.

  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  •   It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage TrainingIllusion stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
