Morrowind talk:Yngling Half-Troll

Why "half-troll"?Edit

Is it explained in the game why he's called "half-troll"? - ZuTheSkunk 00:20, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

I can't find anything in the game dialogue. rpeh •TCE 14:26, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Neither could I. The Nords' names are often descriptive, so it probably refers to his looks. --Brf 14:33, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Killing him without it being reported as a crimeEdit

Someone else will want to confirm this, but I was able to kill Yngling without it being reported as a crime. I just unsheathed my weapon and started attacking him; his servants also rushed into the room and I killed them, too. It seems no one really cares if he's dead. --180.216.37.68 14:04, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Moved note.Edit

  • The Yngling are the oldest known Scandinavian dynasty, though the word is actually Swedish and Norwegian for "youngster". <ref>[http://www.babylon.com/definition/yngling/English Babylon Tranlsation]</ref>

Is there any point ? And that was me who moved. Sorry , weren't signed in =D JackTurbo95 15:21, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

None at all. It's a random Scandinavian word, and the real world origin of it is out-of-context and unimportant on the article. Legoless 15:24, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Further, the modern word "yngling" has nothing to do with the name of the dynasty. The ancient Yngling dynasty was named after their presumed ancestor the god Yngvi-Frey. It all ends up being just speculations. —MortenOSlash (talk) 22:32, 23 March 2013 (GMT)
