Morrowind talk:Odai River

NPCs Falling in the DrinkEdit

This article looks like it could use some content. Should it say something about NPCs falling in the river, the possibility of them drowning, (I was sure I had screenshots of Hul floating face-down, but I can't find them now), and the possibility of using "RA" to put NPCs back where they belong before some klutz drowns? Downstrike (talk) 10:38, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

That doesn't seem very useful. I have never experienced this in my hundreds of hours playing Morrowind. Also, it seems to be a very subjective topic. Jeancey (talk) 22:01, 10 April 2013 (GMT)

Another one bites the drink!
Here's the latest drowning incident from my particular Balmora. I don't remember this happening until recently either, and I might never have noticed this one, if my PC hadn't come in for a strange landing on the steps up to the bridge, and fallen right through them. I suspect Balmora loses people like this every time we play, but since we don't usually play in the water here, we rarely notice.
I guess I didn't take a screenshot of Hul; I only wrote about finding her body. Downstrike (talk) 06:13, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
I'll have to look out for it... But I have never heard of an NPC drowning before... Jeancey (talk) 06:15, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
Even though it has been quite a while since last I played Morrowind, I do recall experiencing this particular issue as well. Although not in particular with regards to the river in question, I do recall losing NPCs, over time to Morrowind:Glitches#Moving_NPCs, the NPCs ending up in bodies of water they cannot get out of and ultimately ending in their untimely demise. -- Kharay (talk) 10:23, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
I should have anticipated that this was also happening elsewhere. Perhaps a note about this belongs on a more generic page about NPCs or bodies of water. Does someone know of such a page? Downstrike (talk) 19:39, 15 April 2013 (GMT)
Well, I already linked to the proper Glitch on Morrowind's glitch page in my previous remark concerning this situation, feel free to add a note to that glitch about NPCs possibly ending up in bodies of waters as a result of it. I am sure no one would object, as it is a conceivable outcome of that particular error in the game's code. -Kharay (talk) 19:45, 15 April 2013 (GMT)
Return to "Odai River" page.
