Widow Vabdas

Widow Vabdas is a Dark Elf miner located inside her home in Gnisis. She is the widow of a miner and holds a land deed that General Darius desires.

She wears a common shirt, skirt, pants, and shoes. She carries her key to a chest in her home along with up to 20 gold. Aside from her natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by her ancestors, she knows no spells.

DialogueEdit

  • Darius:
    • "Darius is one [sic] who wants my husband's land."
  • husband was murdered:
    • "My husband went to the Eggmine and never came home. He knew the mine was closed by you foreigners and guarded by the Legions, but we had no fresh kwama eggs. If you want to help me, go the mines and find out the truth."
  • land deed:
    • "My husband was murdered by a legionnaire and now you come asking for his land. You will never get his land. I will fight you and all of Gnisis will fight you until all you foreigners leave us in peace. Now get out of my house."
    • "You will not steal my husband's land."
    • "You mock me in my grief, foreigner. You stole the land and I will make sure everyone knows about it."
    • "You surprise me, outlander. You are not the thief I thought you were."

NotesEdit

  • Even if you steal the land deed and bring it to General Darius, causing the Imperial Legion to take possession of her property, Widow Vabdas remains in her house indefinitely. The Legion's plans for expanding onto the land are not realized in-game in any event.
    • Although Widow Vabdas vows to "make sure everyone knows" if the player steals her land for the Imperial Legion's benefit, no one (besides her) in Gnisis or anywhere else in Vvardenfell remarks on the theft. One could presume that this would be a much longer-term effect, rather than short-term or immediate.
  • Widow Vabdas will express surprise if the Nerevarine investigates her husband's murder and brings the killer to justice- in the process causing General Darius to permanently give up his plans to acquire her land. However, she does not mention the compensation fund the Deathshead Legion troopers start after the murder of her husband by one of the Legion's own becomes public knowledge, even if the Nerevarine contributes to it.
