Lore talk:The Dragon Break Re-Examined

Darn FoolEdit

I just noticed that the author's name (Fal Droon) is an anagram of "Darn fool". This could be mere coincidence, but since we know Bethesda has played games with author names before (see Beggar etc) and it's pretty clear that the content of this book is nonsense... is this something that should be included or is it Original Research? I'm obviously biased because I found it, but I'd like to see what others think. rpeh •TCE 22:12, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Predicted the events of Oblivion?Edit

Maybe it's worth noting that this book, which was present already in Morrowind, actually predicted some major events of Oblivion including the fall of the Septim dynasty and the end of the third era (which it even describes in the past tense)? Especially since the book is about a phenomenon which is used to explain continuity in the Elder Scrolls games. --Mre (talk) 18:39, 2 January 2013 (GMT)

(Recognizing this is old, but for posterity) A few interviews note Bethesda had lofty plans for what became Oblivion fairly far back, and Morrowind begins with "the waning years of the Third Era". The whole joke about this book is that it's clearly from the future, disproving its own thesis. --Agiletek (talk) 00:30, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
