TransclusionEdit

OK, I just changed the link to Tamriel namespace, but then I realized it is probably due to this being a page that may be transcluded onto another. Problem is, what if it is transcluded onto a page whose namespace doesn't have a Cyrodiil article? --GuildKnightTalk2me 21:58, 27 May 2008 (EDT)

That's fine, I've just been using this way of making Tamriel links, I'm wondering what namespace it could be put into anyway, what do you think?-Puddle 22:36, 27 May 2008 (EDT)
Well, the general idea is to not use a template unless it's necessary. Anyway, I have no idea about what namespace, I'm pretty much completely ignorant of anything outside of Oblivion... sorry! --GuildKnightTalk2me 22:45, 27 May 2008 (EDT)
The code {{NAMESPACE}} is not technically a template; it's a magic word and therefore doesn't have quite the same overhead as a template. Nevertheless, sticking to plain Tamriel links is frequently easier because it's less work to create the link and the resulting link is more legible to editors. On pages that are never going to be used outside of the Tamriel namespace, there's no reason to add the extra complexity. It's also likely that, if any page is going to be changed into a transclusion, other edits to the article will be necessary at that time; preparing the article to be ready for transclusion might not help in the end. But ultimately, when to use NAMESPACE and when to use Tamriel is generally a judgment call rather than something with set rules.
If an article is going to be transcluded into another namespace where the linked articles may or may not exist, the best solution is to use the Tamriel Link template, which figures out what link is appropriate. --NepheleTalk 22:20, 4 June 2008 (EDT)
Makes sense. --GuildKnightTalk2me 23:40, 4 June 2008 (EDT)

Tes4Mod:Stirk OriginsEdit

I think the original note on this page was fairly relevant/notable, seeing as how it made it into an official game with ESO. Somewhat similar as noting the axed gladiatorial teams on the Arena cities lore pages:

* Stirk was developed by the team behind Tamriel Rebuilt as an unofficial add-on for Oblivion. You can read more detail about it here.

It isn't a unique thing to the TR team. Stirk definitely existed prior to them making the island. I think there wasn't any lore attached, just a name and a location. Jeancey (talk) 16:05, 25 July 2014 (GMT)
Ahh, I never noticed that Stirk already existed on the Western Tamriel map prior to the mod. Cool. --Jimeee (talk) 16:11, 25 July 2014 (GMT)
In fact, ESO's Stirk entirely retcons the TR team's fanon. The mod isn't notable in lore. —Legoless (talk) 16:27, 25 July 2014 (GMT)
