Lore talk:Black Books

SkyrimEdit

How many of these books are available, without starting Bleak Falls Barrows? 199.195.165.117 12:14, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

I think you need to start the main quest in order to gain access to Waking Dreams of A Starless Sky, The Hidden Twilight and Epistolary Acumen.Legoless (talk) 15:05, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Actually, you should be able to get them all without clearing Black Falls. Either wander around Solstheim or go straight to the Temple of Miraak to begin to Dragonborn questline. —Legoless (talk) 15:08, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Dying in the bookEdit

"Dying in Apocrypha while reading a Black Book simply banishes the reader back to Tamriel." I think that might just be a game mechanic for the player. Storn's fate certainly shows people who are not the Dragonborn can be killed for good instead of banished. --Gez (talk) 09:00, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

You can definitely die in Apocrypha, but I don't believe this discounts the player experience. Could be worth changing the wording to state that "dying in Apocrypha while reading a Black Book may simply banish the reader back to Tamriel". —Legoless (talk) 10:47, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
