Weynon Priory is an abbey in the Great Forest of Cyrodiil, just east of Chorrol.

In the Second Era, the priory was dedicated to the Eight Divines and served as a retreat for the acolytes of Akatosh. It was also home to a small village at the time. The priory was known for sending missionaries to Morrowind to convert the Dunmer away from worship of the Tribunal, which was a perilous endeavor at the time.

During the Alliance War of 2E 582, the priory remained neutral but vulnerable to the marching armies. It was located in the territory initially controlled by the Daggerfall Covenant.[1] As the war raged on, the priory was targeted by bandits and vampires.[2][3] The Black Dagger bandit gang went so far as to steal the Claw of Akatosh, although it was quickly returned.[4] The acolytes attempted to combat the evils being committed by a necromantic cult called the Shadowed Path, and kept a close eye on the ruins of Lindai while it was occupied by the cult.[5] The priory received substantial aid from passing soldiers.

Following the apotheosis of Tiber Septim, Weynon Priory was rededicated to the Nine Divines and became a chapter house of the Order of Talos.[6][7] The order was responsible for spreading the teachings and worship of the divine Talos,[7] and had close ties to the Blades.[6] Sometime in the Third Era, the monks at Weynon Priory took in and raised the orphan Reynald Jemane after his family home, Weatherleah was attacked by ogres.[8] By the late Third Era, Jauffre, the Grandmaster of the Blades, took up residence as a monk in the priory.[6]

In 3E 433, right before his assassination, Emperor Uriel Septim VII sent an escaped prisoner (the future Hero of Kvatch) on a mission to deliver the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre.[9][10] Jauffre hid the Amulet within the priory and sent the Hero to Kvatch to fetch Uriel's illegitimate son, Martin.[11] However, Kvatch had been sacked by the Daedric forces of Mehrunes Dagon, thus starting the Oblivion Crisis.[12] When the Hero returned to Weynon Priory with Martin, it was under attack from the Mythic Dawn cult, who successfully stole the Amulet before being driven off.[13]

With the signing of the White-Gold Concordat in 4E 175, the Blades were formally disbanded and the worship of Talos was banned in the Empire.[14] The priory's status following these events is unknown.
