Ebony-steel, also known as Ebon Steel, and Ebonsteel is an alloy. It is unknown if this alloy actually contained Ebony and Steel or has been simply named as such, but it was a dark, durable substance.[1][2][3]
It was used by the Dwemer,[1][2][4] along with other materials, such as adamant, ebony, vitrine, and dwarven metal, for constructing certain vamidiums.[5]
Ebony-steel was also used by the knights all across Tamrel,[3] and by the soldiers of the First Aldmeri Dominion. Maces made of the ebony-steel had a tripartite head of three heavy eagle's wings: one for each of the races of the alliance: Altmer, Khajiit, and Bosmer.[6]
