Alfidia Lupus was an Imperial scholar who served as the Imperial Ethnographer for Potentate Savirien-Chorak from 2E 418 to 431. She wrote a series of texts which provided an overview of the general patterns and symbology used on the architecture, weapons, and armor of various cultures in Tamriel. The aim was to create introductory texts for the ethnographic courses at the Arcane University.[1]
During the development of these texts, Alfidia crossed paths with many notable figures of the time, which included King Logrolf of Skyrim, as well as Morian Zenas and Divayth Fyr when they were collaborating with research into portals to Oblivion.[2][1][3] She eventually became romantically involved with both of the mages. However, this developed into a love triangle, and she became one of the points of contention between Zenas and Fyr.[4][5][6][7][8]
At the climax of the portal experiments, Alfidia received a cryptic warning from the Argonian Desh-Wulm which she interpreted that the mage pair were at risk.[9] However she was too late and Morian Zenas had disappeared in Oblivion. According to his apprentice Seif-ij Hidja, Morian had become increasingly reckless during his jumps through the Oblivion realms and had ignored Seif-ij's pleas for Morian to return. Morian Zenas' final stop was Apocrypha where he stayed.[10]
In the final known text from her, Alfidia says she searched for Divayth Fyr to ask for his help. But instead found a copy of the Fragmentae Abyssum Hermaeus Morus in his quarters, which had apparently been used to summon Hermaeus Mora. She believed that Fyr had made a deal with the Prince for the entrapment of Morian Zenas.[10]
Soon afterwards, Doctor Alfidia Lupus herself disappeared and was not heard from again. In her absence, Seif-ij Hidja found several notes in his master's desk for her unfinished works on different cultural styles. He took it upon himself to organise these notes, emulating her writing style.[11] During this time period, Seif-ij Hidja became increasingly convinced that Alfidia had found her own way to Oblivion in pursuit of his master.[12]
