Ald Redaynia is an isolated Velothi tower found on the northern islands of Vvardenfell, known as Sheogorad. It is within the province of Morrowind. Despite having little significance on the surface, Ald Redaynia is a historical settlement, dating back as far as the Merethic Era,[1] and once containing a small remote fishing village as far as 3E 427.[2]

HistoryEdit

The site that would be Ald Redaynia was discovered in the middle Merethic Era, when Aldmer explorers mapped out the coasts of Vvardenfell, and establish wizard towers across the coast. A tower was erected at Ald Redaynia, as well as places such as Bal Fell and Tel Mora.[1] For an unspecified amount of time, Ald Redaynia had hosted a remote fishing village, being one of the two found on the islands of Sheogorad (the other being Dagon Fel to the east).[2] At one point, a War-Wizard lived on the top level of Ald Redaynia, and wielded the Vampiric Ring, an ancient artifact of immense evil created by a cult of Vampires.[3] This War-Wizard eventually passed away, and his skeleton continued to live on in the tower, guarding the Bittercup.[4]

In the late years of the Imperial Simulacrum, in 3E 397,[5] the Ashlanders had discovered a baby on the shores of Ald Redaynia whom they believed was the Nerevar Incarnate. The Dunmer was named Peakstar, and she attempted to fulfill the Nerevarine Prophecy, but later died at the hands of an Ash Vampire.[6] During the Blight outbreak in 3E 427, the ruined tower of Ald Redaynia contained the artifact known as the Bittercup, which is sacred to the followers of Clavicus Vile. A member of the Thieves Guild was able to confiscate the Bittercup after defeating the Skeleton War-Wizard.[7]
