I don't see any reason to change the logo's background. We've had this thing since basically the beginning of the Wiki, and the main page that uses it, the Main Page, has already been adjusted to take into account the differing background.--Ratwar 11:17, 28 April 2008 (EDT)

Especially since a transparent background would require going back to a .png format image. It's not worth making the image six times larger just to add transparency to an image, especially an image that is on one of the most frequently viewed page on the site. --Nephele^Talk 16:27, 28 April 2008 (EDT)
