SourceEdit

This image comes not from Wikipedia, but from the Imperial Library: [1]. Wikipedia uses a non-free license the same way we use the esimage license, considering it to be fair use. I'm pretty sure this map originates from Bethesda source, which would make it no more illegal than, well, just about every other image on the site. But the people to ask would not be the posters of the image here or on Wikipedia, but the folks at TIL. --TheRealLurlock Talk 00:59, 9 May 2008 (EDT)

Yes, I know it comes from TIL. But that still doesn't make it fair use. TIL's quoted source is an apparently defunct High Rock Mod. It does not come from Bethesda and it is not a screenshot taken from any of the games. And given that I don't want in-game screenshots uploaded to UESP that were taken from other websites without permission, I really don't want UESP to have original content taken from another website without any apparent involvement of the content's creator. --NepheleTalk 01:07, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
True, I just think we should at least ask someone at TIL if they mind before we decide to delete it. It's a good image, and one we're not likely to get a replacement of equivalent quality for any time soon, so if they're okay with us using it, and/or are able to track down the original creator and get permission, I see no reason why it can't be hosted in both places. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:17, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
I've sent a PM via the official forums to Noirgrim who was running the High Rock Mod. If I don't hear back from him, I'll see who else I can dig up related to the mod.--Ratwar 02:58, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
Alright, got word back from Noirgrim, he doesn't care. --Ratwar 22:49, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
