Original file(1,280 × 954 pixels, file size: 386 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

SummaryEdit

A concept illustration by Michael Kirkbride which appears on page 11 of The Art of Morrowind. Provided in high quality by the illustrator on 8 January 2014 on his Tumblr blog (post archived here).

The Art of Morrowind captions the illustration "Daedric Shrine ruins". The annotations on the original artwork are:

  • Exterior 'dungeons'
  • Ancient-style, unlike that of other areas
  • Try for spooky, over-the-top demonic stuff - the architecture doesn't have to make sense, it just has to evoke.
  • (Actually, this all sucks - redraw, Matt)

In a post on reddit, Kirkbride explained the bottom annotation is due to his dislike for his own attempt at the ruins concept, instead instructing Matthew Carofano to draw a new version.
