I should use the decanter on the blue flames blocking the door
The Forlorn One asked me to use the decanter of holy water to rescue two people trapped by the fires.

Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Save the man and the woman.
  2. Talk to Elynisi Arthalen.
  3. Find Tidyn Arthalen in the town hall lowest level.
  4. Talk to the Forlorn One.
  5. Defeat the echo of Vox in the crater and use the decanter on it.
  6. Talk to Elynisi again.

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

The Forlorn One says there are two more people left to save in the village. The man is in the Salen House to the west. Use the decanter on the blue flames outside the door, and tell him he can leave. The woman is in Henim House to the east— as with the man, snuff the flames outside the door and tell the trapped woman that she can leave.

Talking to Elynisi Arthalen in the inn reveals the man and woman are her brother and mother. However, her father is still missing. Elynisi gives you the key to the town hall so you can look for him there.

On the lower level, you find a body lying on the ground. The Forlorn One appears. He is all that remains of Tidyn Arthalen, Elynisi's father. He is chained to the echo of Vox. You need to go to the crater in the center of town and defeat the echo of Vox again, so the Forlorn One can draw it into the decanter. With the echo of Vox destroyed, Tidyn is free.

Tell Elynisi her father is dead. She thanks you for freeing the town and gives you a reward.

BugsEdit

  • This quest is part of the Zone Story, but is missing from the Zone Guide.
  • There is a chance that the NPCs you need to rescue from the buildings won't be there. Logging out then logging back in should spawn them back.

Quest StagesEdit

Rescue and Revenge
Finishes Quest Journal Entry
I need to search the burning homes in the southern part of Selfora for the two people the Forlorn One mentioned. The holy water should put out the fire blocking the doors so that I can enter them.
Objective: Rescue the Man
Objective: Rescue the Woman
Hidden Objective: Extinguish the Fire
I rescued the young man and the woman, just as the spirit asked. I should return to the inn and make sure Elynisi is all right.
Objective: Talk to Elynisi Arthalen
Elynisi asked me to search the Selfora town hall to find her father, Tidyn. She gave me a key to unlock the building.
Objective: Enter the Town Hall
I'm in the town hall. Now I should search for Tidyn Arthalen.
Objective: Find Tidyn Arthalen
The Forlorn One appeared over the body of Tidyn Arthalen. I should speak to the spirit and find out what happened here.
Objective: Talk to the Forlorn One
The Forlorn One is actually the spirit of Tidyn Arthalen. He was slain by Magistrix Vox and chained to Selfora by her echo. He wants me to go to the crater in the middle of Selfora, where he'll summon Vox's echo.
Objective: Talk to Tidyn at the Crater
The spirit of Tidyn Arthalen summoned the Echo of Vox to the crater at the center of Selfora. I need to subdue the Echo of Vox and capture it by using the decanter.
Objective: Capture the Echo of Vox
I defeated and captured the Echo of Vox. It's trapped in the decanter and the curse on Selfora has lifted. Now that this is finished, I should speak to Tidyn.
Objective: Talk to Tidyn Arthalen

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
