Island with horkers, stahlrim, and nordic ruinsEdit

There is an unmarked location on an island at the far north of Solstheim. It has a few horkers and some stahlrim deposits, one of the deposits after being mined yielded an enchanted ebony battleaxe (probably leveled loot). I seem to remember an East empire strongbox too.

I did notice that this island was noted in the stahlrim sources section. — Unsigned comment by Romandoug (talkcontribs) at 06:26 on 21 December 2012‎

I know the place you're talking about, and if no one else adds it to the article beforehand, I can do so later. As for the strongbox, I'm almost positive you're remembering incorrectly. There's one nearby in the building at Northshore Landing, but not on the unmarked island itself. I'll double-check this to be completely sure before adding the location to the page, though. Thanks for the info! — ABCface 14:14, 21 December 2012 (GMT)
I know of this location and I'm sure the strongbox is in the Riekling watchtower. --Jimeee (talk) 14:19, 21 December 2012 (GMT)
You're thinking of the northeast side of the map. The location Romandoug mentioned is on the northwest side of the map, north of Northshore Landing (this is where the stalhrim is located, as note on DB:Stalhrim). Yes, there's one at the top of the Riekling structure (as already noted on this page), but the one near where he's talking about is at Northshore Landing. — ABCface 14:25, 21 December 2012 (GMT)
Very correct, no East empire box, had to double check myself Romandoug (talk) 00:27, 22 December 2012 (GMT)
This is actually an iceberg that you can swim under - not sure if renaming it is worthwhile. Also while there are two sarcophagi, they share one deposit. Ill fix that in Dragonborn:Stalhrim QuNybble talk 01:01, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
Are you sure it's just one deposit? I am like 95% sure I got two deposits there. Jeancey (talk) 01:05, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
Yes, there are two. Also, I think it's worth renaming, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was an iceberg that you could swim under. I'd never seen that before in a game and it added some additional immersion for me. Another note, I did not find the weapon when I mined the deposit like it says in the article, but lying next to it up against the ice. Might just be a bug on my end, though.64.121.45.12 07:13, 19 February 2015 (GMT)

Alternate Entrance to Miraak's SanctumEdit

Okay, I tried following the directions to this location and couldn't. But if it's just an alternate entrance to the Temple of Miraak (Jeancey said in an edit summary that it was where you come out from), I don't think we should list it on this page. Technically it's unmarked, but we don't add alternate entrances/exits on Unmarked Places pages. There isn't a precedence for this, as far as I know. Unless I'm missing something somewhere? If there is no precedence for this, I think this location needs to be removed from this page, and added as a note to the appropriate place page. — ABCface 15:42, 13 January 2013 (GMT)

If no one opposes within a week, I'll remove it from this page and add the info to the Temple of Miraak page instead. — ABCface 05:04, 15 January 2013 (GMT)
Kind of forgot about this, but no one's opposed the removal anyway, so I've now removed it from the page. — ABCface 00:57, 11 February 2013 (GMT)

ImagesEdit

Hey people, the unmarked places page isn't that colourful yet haha. I have uploaded images for the unmarked places, but I would like to discuss the layout here before I put them in the article.

Well, I have drafted a few possible layouts of this article in my sandbox. I would like to know what you guys think. Which one do you think is more presentable, or appeals to you more etc. Tell me if there are any ways to improve. Also, if you have any other ideas, feel free to add a new section to my sandbox.

And btw, ignore the map link errors; I didn't include the game parameter, and it will show up fine on the actual article. ~ Psylocke 14:30, 19 August 2013 (GMT)

Personally, I think Layout 2 is the best. It's similar to the Oblivion:Unmarked Places page, and seems to be the optimal format for a page such as this. (The only reason we couldn't do the same for the Skyrim namespace is because of the overabundance of locations listed on that page.) For the number of locations on this page Layout 2 looks ideal, even considering the fact that it could have some locations added in the future (though probably not many considering Solstheim's size and the time that has gone by since Dragonborn's release). So layout 2 is my vote. I really want to get away from the ugly table. Great pictures, by the way! — ABCface 15:02, 19 August 2013 (GMT)
I'm leaning towards Layout 2 too; I don't think a table is needed for articles like this, and Layout 3 makes your eyes dart from left to right just to see the images x_x Layout 2 is also the easiest to read, so yeah. Is it possible though to put the map links on the section headers, for easier clicking? —<({Quill-Tail>> 15:28, 19 August 2013 (GMT)
I have added the game parameters to the map links. And regarding those map links, I considered Quill's comment and added variations to my sandbox on how the map link can be displayed. Layout 2B places them in the headers, like Quill suggested (I used linkable entries so that other pages can still anchor to them). Layout 2C places them in the image captions. Just a heads up for people who like consistency: the Oblivion and Skyrim articles places them at the end of the paragraph, like in layout 2.
So, if we're moving towards using layout 2, where should the map links be? And what should the captions be? ~ Psylocke 16:16, 19 August 2013 (GMT)
Personally, I prefer the map links how you had them, but I'm not really picky about it. The image captions should just be like on standard place pages, using the names we've given them for the page. — ABCface 16:23, 19 August 2013 (GMT)
Okay, thanks for your input Alphabetface and Quill-Tail. Looks like layout 2 will be used for the article. And for consistency, I'll also leave the map links at the end of every paragraph, and add the appropriate image captions. I'll go ahead and add the images now. ~ Psylocke 11:34, 20 August 2013 (GMT)

No Page for Dead Dark ElvesEdit

I was looking at the Unmarked Places page, and noticed that there's no page for the two dead Dark Elves. Should a page be created for them, since the camp holds an East Empire Company strongbox? I'm new and have no experience with creating pages, but I did look around and if a page were to be made, it could be linked with the Dragonborn Unmarked Places and Dragonborn People, at the bottom of this page is the Overworld/Wilderness area where there are a couple dead people already listed. Chocoholic (talk) 05:27, 26 August 2014 (GMT)

I went ahead and created a very basic page so that someone such as yourself would have somewhere to start. Feel free to start adding specific info if you'd like. You can check out Skyrim:Dark_Elf_(dead) for an example. --Xyzzy Talk 19:42, 26 August 2014 (GMT)

Another hidden chestEdit

There is another hidden wilderness chest above the source of the river that flows by the entrance to Castle Karstaag Caverns. 86.30.204.13 01:20, 17 January 2015 (GMT)

Another Lurker ambushEdit

I encountered a Lurker at the tip of the peninsula west-south-west of Tel Mithryn, near where there are several glowing rocks embedded in craters in the ground. There is also a wilderness encounter zone in this area. 86.30.204.13 01:25, 17 January 2015 (GMT)

Lurker Ambush?Edit

I'm pretty sure that lurker doesn't respawn...ergo it may not be worth mentioning as an "unmarked place", less so as the various places ash spawn will in fact respawn are not all mentioned. — Unsigned comment by 76.234.40.15 (talk) at 17:21 on 12 February 2016
