The realm is inhabited by Daedra called Seekers and Lurkers. Tentacles constantly breach the acidic dark waters and sometimes whip at you, causing a significant amount of damage if they manage to hit you. The acidic waters with the tentacles are also corrosive and cause damage if stepped in.

The Winds of Change opens on a dark platform, and even though you are right at the edge of the platform, tentacles will not appear until you move. The bridge forward is very dark, and has two grated sections to give an appearance of there being gaps over the murky water. After the bridge there is a seeker, and up two flights of stairs is a room with five pedestals. There is a seeker in the area, separated by two gates. Anti-clockwise the pedestals hold, on the first one, a random book and soul gem, a random soul gem on the second one, two random books, and a copy of the Spell Tome: Conjure Seeker (only if your Conjuration skill is at least level 40) on the third one. The fourth one holds another random book, and the fifth one has nothing of interest.
There is a scrye to the northeast that opens a gate beyond it. There is a table to the left with two soul gems (one random, and one leveled), and past the gate in the middle, a pod to the left, and a table with a leveled soul gem, and the scrye to open the middle gate. There is also a font of magicka and a font of stamina in the area. Along the corridor are two fonts of magicka, and just before the gate, the scrye to open it.
Once through the gate a lurker spawns from a pool in the middle of the room. To the left is a ramp up to a smaller area with treasure to loot, and a scrye, and off to the right is another scrye. The treasure consists of two scrolls of frenzy and a black soul gem on the left pillar, two scrolls of fear on the right pillar, two black soul gems and a copy of the Two-handed skill book Words and Philosophy. The scrye with the treasure opens the gate on the other side of the room, while the scrye on that side extends the steps up to the gate. There is a vessel to the left of the book, which is the black book The Winds of Change. Read the book. It will open, revealing three green spheres. Each corresponds to one of the three abilities offered by this book. To obtain an ability, use one of the spheres. To exit this part of Apocrypha, use a part of the open book this is not a black circle.
