- Find your way through the ruin and recover the Blade of Namira.
- Escape and return to Bravil.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
To start this quest, talk to Sylvia or Alyshia, prostitutes who can be found hanging around the street corners in Bravil. If you have 100 gold, they'll invite you back to The Red Mare; once you get there, sleep in the bed to receive a vision and a journal update.
From here, go to Ma Syd Jun's Goodies and More and buy the book The Forgotten Realm. Read it to get another journal update. You may notice a whistling skull sitting on the shop counter, but this is not for sale and cannot be taken with you.
The next part of this quest is a little more difficult: in order to find the dungeon, you have to follow "the path of the dragon's breath". This is a series of dragon's tongue flowers planted outside of Bravil. It leads southwest, across the Larsius River; you're looking for a large fort ruin guarded by goblins, outside the border. You'll need the book to open the door - you did keep a copy, right?
Once inside, you can either clear the first level (more goblins) or simply jump down the well. Don't worry - you'll land in a deep pool of water. Climb out and continue on downward until you end up in an Ayleid ruin; you'll meet a man named Sayjid trying to open a large door. You can sit and watch him for awhile if you're bored, but he'll never succeed, because the door can't be opened. Go into the smaller room to the south and look around for a small button. Press it, and you'll start the trials. Hit each button in turn until you've gotten all four, then return to the large room to find a smaller door has opened. Go through this to the next level. Sayjid will follow, but only as far as the large Namira statue, unless you agree to let him join you, in which case he becomes your companion and continues to follow you.
Go down the stairs to the next level, a large room with spriggan statues. At the top of the stairs, you'll run into a bunch of ghosts and a cut-scene. After it's done, grab the sword and go back down the stairs to the main floor and through either of the metal gates. Go up the spiral stairs (watch out for traps!) until you come to a hallway running north-south. Look for a small statue of Namira in one of the alcoves; it's the only one you'll be able to activate. When you find it, move it and a door will open below. Go back back down to the main room and through the new door into another room with a stone door. This leads to the labyrinth.
The labyrinth is pretty straightforward - lots of twisting passages, traps, shifting walls, and the occasional zombie. The exit is in the southwest corner; you'll come to a blank wall with a lever near it. Pull the lever, which opens the secret door, and follow the passage up to the chamber with a rope-ladder leading outside. Before using the ladder, take the note left beside a whistling skull (again you cannot take the skull with you).
Once you've gotten out, return to Bravil and talk to Ma Syd Jun. He'll tell you that someone in the Black Arrow is looking for you. This will start The Bloodscript.
Journal EntriesEdit

---|---|---|
Stage | Finishes Quest | Journal Entry |
30 | What a strange dream. A king, a realm and a sword. King Ardan, so that Dunmer called him. What was his name again? It's on the tip of my tongue. Strange - I know I'll recognise that voice if I hear it again. | |
40 | Ma Syd Jun told me about the realm of Ruun. He said it is forgotten, and I wouldn't disagree with him, I've never heard about Ruun. But he has a book about it named "The Forgotten Realm" which he will sell me, called it a fair deal. Fair for him, I would call it a robbery. | |
45 | The book I bought from Ma Syd Jun makes little sense, yet it is supposed to contain a clue to find the location of the Blade of Namira. | |
47 | Success! I have found and entered the Temple of Ruun. Somewhere within these passages lies the forgotten Blade of Namira. | |
50 | Sayjid calls himself the last survivor of his group. A strange character who lost his two companions fighting a guardian at the bottom of the well. Now he is trying to open the portal with the "words of ancients". Let's see if some logical thinking will move the stone faster instead of some arcane rhymes. | |
60 | I survived all the trials! Tried myself in endurance, patience and trust. Oh, and blood. Yes, blood I lost, too! If the book of old is correct the temple should be open now. | |
80 | I've located the Blade's tomb. I've never seen such a strange place before; getting here seems to have been far too easy. | |
95 | The sword is mine! And no escape. No escape? Do they expect me to sit here until all my flesh falls off my bones? I have not tracked down a forgotten blade to become forgotten myself. There is always an escape. Always a way out... even out of oblivion. And I know what I am talking about here. | |
100 | Done! I escaped the Temple of Namira! And I carry that cursed blade with me! I wonder why I had that dream, maybe that Ma Syd Jun himself had something to do with it. After all he wrote me a note! He knew about it. But for what? Why me? Maybe he will pay me a good price for it. Something that I will call a "fair deal"! At least he's got my attention. | |
110 | Ma Syd Jun was very excited to see that I have the Blade of Namira with me. He is willing to pay a good price for it; let's see if I am willing to sell it. For some reason I feel that this was only a part of something bigger. Hm, I do not know what to think about it. Ma Syd Jun mentioned that there is a man staying at the Black Arrow Tavern who wishes to speak with me. |
- Notes
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage BANBravilBMBladeOfTheGoddess stage
