Swashbuckling High Sea Adventure!
The debut title of The Elder Scrolls Adventures
                series,Redguard swings into action 4th Q 1997.

Rockville, Maryland (April 1997) - Bethesda Softworks today announced
the introduction of a new PC game under the newly formed The Elder
Scrolls Adventures series, titled The Elder Scrolls Adventures:
Redguard(TM). Featuring a fully realized 3D environment and a grand
adventure, Redguard is slated for nationwide release in November 1997.

Featuring dozens of fully animated real time 3D characters, Redguard
lets you interact with everyone you meet on the populated island of
Stros M'Kai. Using the 3rd person perspective, Redguard's camera
system allows for dynamic panning of the action. Imagine you are in a
conversation with a local pirate in a busy market square. Your words
come to blows and you both draw swords. You are faster on the draw and
able to disarm him. In one smooth motion the camera swings around,
showing you with your sword at his neck as he concedes victory.
Redguard's advanced camera system allows for real-time 3D cinematics
with no break in the gameplay.

You play Cyrus, a Redguard mercenary, who returns to the province of
his birth in search of his lost sister. You will encounter
swashbuckling pirates, shady political figures and all sorts of
colorful people and creatures around every turn. Every inch of the
game world has been meticulously crafted by a veteran development
team. Most of the island is free for you to explore. You experience
the game areas as you discover them, and the nonlinear story evolves
at the pace of your play. Your adventures will have you escaping from
deadly traps, jumping across dizzying chasms, discovering Dwarven
ruins, swinging across ropes, and best of all...sword fighting! No
swashbuckling adventure would be complete without the duels that made
     them famous.

"People are going to have trouble putting Redguard in one category,"
states Todd Howard, Designer of Redguard. "We're putting together
adventure, action, and storytelling in a very elegant system. I think
the game will open a lot of peoples eyes to some of the
possibilities." Redguard takes a more detailed and focused look into
the world of Tamriel, made famous by the games Arena(TM) and
Daggerfall(TM), both of which have won numerous Best RPG of Year
awards. Redguard is not a role-playing game, but it holds true the
genre's passion for fantasy and heroes.

Utilizing the latest version of Bethesda's proprietary 3D engine, the
X(n)gine(TM), Redguard is designed as a fully realized 3D environment.
Gamers have complete freedom of movement and sight. The X(n)gine(TM)
generates advanced special effects including real-time light sources,
realistic weather conditions, and a fully textured, contoured fractal
     terrain.
