Thanks Booyah Boy! (and a long overdue thanks to Aristeo :). Looks like it might be time to create a cookie jar... for that matter, it's also probably time to do some archiving around here. --Nephele 23:38, 22 September 2006 (EDT)

Thanks, GuildKnight. Although just getting another editor who's addicted to UESP and willing to do so much work around here is a good enough reward for me. But bribes always help if you want to get votes to be a patroller ;) --Nephele 22:44, 4 March 2007 (EST)

Nephele, you have been just a huge inspiration to me ever since I made my first page. You juust helped me understand how to use the wiki with just some things you had done. I would see something I didn't understand how to get up on a page like
OB-icon-ingredient-Apple.png This user is a Mentor.
. Well to you what you have done for me may not seem like much but to me it means everything in the world. When you opposed me for patroller, I admit, it hurt a little but I learned something there, You can't just widdly diddly ask for something and get it. I understood everyones reasons to oppose me and I will come back stronger than ever when I nominate myself again.
--Jesus_lover Talk 23:30 15 June 2007(EST)

Thanks, Jesus lover. My schedule has been a bit hectic lately, but it's good to know that I've still been able to help you out a bit when I've had some spare time to check in on the wiki. As for being a patroller, the best way to become a patroller is to start spending time monitoring recent changes and doing the things that you would do as a patroller. It gives you some experience with what being a patroller really means, and lets everyone else see what you have to offer. --NepheleTalk 22:42, 19 June 2007 (EDT)

Yay! My cookie came back :) Thanks Darth NANAME (and GuildKnight for your fixes!). Also, thanks Darth NANAME for all your help cleaning up edits and generally helping to keep an eye on the Recent Changes page.
As for the animosity, there's no question I'd prefer to not have to put up with any of it. But unfortunately the sad reality is that there will always be some editors who aren't happy, for whatever reason. If sticking my neck out and attempting to answer those editors' questions ends up making me a target, at least they're less likely to be inflicting their issues on the site's other editors ;) --NepheleTalk 15:57, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Massively DeservedEdit

You have been given a small portion of rpeh's alcohol store!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, noted that you are a lover of fermented vegetable products, and has given you beer, wine, sherry, and liqueurs because of it. Good work! The user reminded you to drink responsibly and also had the following to say:

You've always deserved it, but for the incredible effort with the new site functions and upgrades, you deserve a big reward.
In case you're wondering, the wine was on special offer. I'll buy you some better stuff in the near future. ;-) –RpehTCE 18:18, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

Thanks :) I'd always known it took some work to get upgrades done, but I hadn't fully appreciated just how much -- in particular making edits to a live site that you know is being accessed hundreds of times per minute definitely adds to the stress and planning overhead. Which means I might hold off until the upgrade is actually done before making a dent in the alcohol, under the "drink responsibly" clause ;) On the other hand, I could just blame the alcohol if I make a stupid mistake at the worst possible time.... --NepheleTalk 21:42, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

In IRC-speak... /me passes Nephele a glass of wine and waits in case she drops it before falling asleep.
Well done on the upgrade. Now get some sleep :) –RpehTCE 16:45, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I did get a few hours of sleep -- after a couple hours of banging my head against the wall, I at least had enough good sense left to realize that I needed a bit of sleep if I was going to have any chance of coming up with a different approach on the "one big problem". Which, in case anyone is curious, was that the localization cache refused to recognize that the site had been upgraded, and kept insisting on feeding MW1.14 with MW1.10 information. I finally figured out a way to hack the code and force a refresh. One thing I'm keeping an eye out for is whether there are other problems being caused by out-of-date caches -- including the question of whether to somehow force the squid server to do a complete refresh.... In short, I hate caches ;) --NepheleTalk 17:00, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Mr. Oblivion. And I'm glad it's working now. I hadn't even looked into it up until now, because I knew everything would work differently after the upgrade. I'm guessing that the problem was that the Patroller extension wasn't updated the last time the wiki was upgraded. --NepheleTalk 22:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Why didnt you put this in her cookie jar? --Arny 08:17, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
Because her cookie jar is a "sandbox" of sorts. No user besides the userpage owner should edit it. Besides, if i put it here, she'll see a "you have new messages on your talk page" and see it ;D Mikeyboy52 16:57, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
While some users feel differently, and will usually indicate it if they do, Mikeyboy52's reasoning is correct. If you look at the history of Nephele's cookie jar, apart from maintenance edits, she's the only one who's put cookies in there. If in doubt, it's always better to put things on the talk page and let the user themselves decide what to do with the contribution. Robin HoodTalk 17:06, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Mikeyboy! (And as for where cookies belong, I don't personally have much preference, but it is true that I'm less likely to notice a cookie added directly to my cookie jar). --NepheleTalk 18:22, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
