Skyrim talk:Hevnoraak (creature)

Some ObservationsEdit

Came across the dungeon he is in today at level 19, having received a courier note from "A Friend." Didn't know this guy was at the end (though I should have guessed from what I saw earlier in the dungeon). Some observations from combating him. He can turn conjured creatures against you. He casts what appears to be chain lightning when you are at range, and uses lightning cloak up in melee. By the time I got to him I had gotten to level 21, and I had few potions. Atronarch stone can save your butt as well when it absorbs the damage of his spells and when it gives you the the magicka as well. Hope this helps some folks. StrategiesEdit

He likes to throw lightning around, so have some anti-lit enchantments or potions available. He seems immune to bows with shock damage (might even heal him not sure). Spell absorption would be a plus. Keep your distance while he is resurrecting, since that lightning coming from the posts around his casket will hurt you. Metricjester 00:30, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Original AbilityEdit

In the official game guide the mask's ability is listed as +40 Heavy Armor. Maybe this was the original enchantment from an early build of the game.

Not for Low Level Mage charactersEdit

Even on Novice setting, I got my @$$ handed to me as a level 8 magic-only Imperial. I actually had to run away, because I was out of potions and he just kept hammering me with that lightning staff of his. Ironically, when I did this as a level 81 warrior, he barely attacked -- and that was on Expert. Voraxith 04:58, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

...Or low level archers!Edit

Hevnoraak is quite easy to pick off as an archer with decent sneak abilities (he also doesn't seem too perceptive), and a good bow. However, once he sees you he can be very difficult to hit with a bow because he moves rather quickly and tends to strafe; leading him is tricky because there are several tall obstacles to spoil your aim, and while you wait for a clear shot he is still able to hit you quite hard from range with lightning attacks --Reka 10:42, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Name meaningEdit

In the this article it mentions that hevno means brutal. According to the article on the dragon language, aak means guide. So could his name mean 'brutal guide' or something like that? With the r in the middle being a verbal separator to make saying all those vowels easier? Just a thought... Obax 18:46, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

What about "Brutal Leader" since Valdar talks about how Hevnoraak was able to enthrall people into following him and then used fear to keep them in line. If "aak" is Guide then Leader is a synonym and makes sense when combined with the little bit of lore you get and when added with "Hevno" Lord Eydvar Talk | Contribs 21:21, 12 September 2012 (GMT)

Weird under leveled bug?Edit

I fought Hevnoraak today (I'm level 42) and he had really low health, I killed him with two fireballs. Why would that be?

I think it's because you found the bottles and emptied them. I think it places a cap on his actual health, and at high levels his max health becomes much higher than the cap, resulting in him effectively starting out wounded. I've seen the same thing. Quillan (talk) 04:52, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
