Possible target for "Find Runil's Journal"Edit

Should make a note that this cave is a possibility for the "Find Runil's Journal" radiant quest from Falkreath. — Unsigned comment by Alar1k (talkcontribs) at 09:51 on 10 December 2011 (GMT)

Hardly leveledEdit

Just visited it at level 20 and all but two Bandits inside were, well, Bandits - the very weakest kind. I didn't even discover the location before much less go inside, so it should've scaled properly. 178.183.217.162 11:43, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Not *everything* is level scaled. 99.186.225.51 18:39, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

minesEdit

I did not find 8 mines. I found like 4 Mrp8196 09:40, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

take out or add something?Edit

in the article it says that embershard mine is recognizable by the wooden steps leading up to it from the river. However in the beginning of the game, Ralof can lead you past the mine by ways of the side path closer to helgen (in fact out of stating a new game over 10 times now, Ralof has only lead me past the standing stones and along the main road to riverwood one time, which was the first time). All other games he has taken me past embershard mine by means of the back road. I didn't see anything about this on Ralof's page either. It seems either here or Ralof's page or both should at least mention that in the beginning he might lead you straight past the back trail to embershard mine instead of down the main road going past the standing stones. The article is referring to that specific path to the mine being recognizable by the steps, so I think the description is fine as is. Also, we don't delete accounts, and we rarely block them unless they're being used for vandalism. It's likely you've either forgotten your password or you've misspelled your user name (I believe capitals are important too...not sure). Robin Hoodtalk 04:09, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

bridge glitch?Edit

should it really be mentioned in the main article to attempt to walk back across the bridge after pulling a lever as it's raising to pop the player somewhere? Shouldn't that be moved to the notes section for this mine?— Unsigned comment by 108.197.122.144 (talk) at 19:31 on 18 February 2012

It's fine where it is, but I've added the more customary method of getting the coin purse. Robin Hoodtalk 04:52, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Lootable TorchesEdit

It might be mentioned that the torches in this mine can be taken (by activating). This is a rare source of free torches which are otherwise hard to obtain early in the game. OldMansBeard (talk) 11:52, 5 February 2013 (GMT)

Sort of "Power Field"Edit

I dont know the details really good. My little sister was playing Skyrim and i was on my laptop next to it. She was in embershard mine.

Suddenly the whole mine was brightly lit with blue light. Imagine "The Eye Of Magnus" that big ball of magic, but than blue as Unrelenting Force and bright as a Healing spell. It looked like blue fire, as big as the whole mine itself reaching to the cealing.

My sister didnt explain really well. She told me she opened the last chest under the waterfall, took everything, and pressed "L1" while still in that chest, exited the chest and then it came. Any possibile explanation / confirmation?

WeeziMonkey (talk) 10:01, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

Just a normal flareup (not sure what else to call it), happens sometimes, not usually the whole screen but you'll sometimes see like part of a wall flare bright blue for a second on you. Seems to be caused by extended play from what I've seen. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 10:05, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

Iron Ore Vein LocationsEdit

In the description is said: "Outside the back exit from the mine, about ten paces ahead and slightly to your left (there are two iron ore veins)." That's also shown on the map.
I only can find one vein there. So what's the right number? -- CompleCCity (talk) 15:13, 27 February 2014 (GMT)

There are actually two, but they are so close they might appear as one. However after you mine one and look around, you can still mine the other smaller one. --Alfwyn (talk) 16:25, 27 February 2014 (GMT)
You're right, didn't look closely enough … -- CompleCCity (talk) 20:20, 27 February 2014 (GMT)

Ore numbers only to include interior veins?Edit

If the ore vein numbers on place pages are only to include interior veins. Then a lot of people need to be made aware of this as there are a lot of place pages where that isn't what is shown, not that I can think of ay off the top of my head. This isn't me trying to start another argument with you just for the sake of it, and this particular page I knew couldn't be correct as nine, to include one of two exterior vein just couldn't be correct. What about places that are solely outside or those where the ore veins are part of the exterior of the place and not just near an entrance, how far do we take this? I take it this only applies to the number shown in the header and not what is mentioned on the pages themselves? Cheers. Biffa (talk) 01:14, 26 March 2014 (GMT)

It's extremely simple, only veins found inside a location are included in the summary. That way there is no ambiguity as to how far outside a place you include it. If anyone is unsure they can check the history when NepheleBot added the information because that was taken from the game data. Places with no interior would have no entries in the summary. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 01:27, 26 March 2014 (GMT)
For the sake of precision, that seems like the best standard. Extra veins outside the interior can be described in the zone description, or at least in the Notes. --Xyzzy Talk 02:12, 26 March 2014 (GMT)
So giant camps and other external places that don't have a cave or other interior section for instance, but that have ore veins in the area of the camp, etc. they shouldn't be shown in the header? Biffa (talk) 11:23, 26 March 2014 (GMT)
Yes. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:41, 26 March 2014 (GMT)
Yes they should be shown in the header or no they shouldn't be shown in the header?

() And purely because this is the page I'm working on at the moment, Faldar's Tooth which shows as having a silver ore vein on the header, and I've checked the history when NepheleBot updated the summary parameters and it shows on the page at that time as having this ore vein? What am I looking at wrong? I'm not trying to be thick, just want to get this right in the future.

Think I've answered my own question there are six or so different updates by NepheleBot with updates for place summary parameters and on some of the earlier ones it isn't shown. Biffa (talk) 02:45, 27 March 2014 (GMT)

Small?Edit

If the size indication "small" refers to the number of zones, perhaps. If it refers to the number of nodes then it misrepresents this iron mine which is the 3rd largest of nine following only Halted Stream (which is also one zone but not called small) and Fort Fellhammer. Since the zones and nodes are explicit on the page, I omitted the characterization "small" . Kalevala (talk) 18:45, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

It is indeed referring to the zones/physical size of the mine rather than the ore density. I'm pretty sure including the size is part of the namespace's style guidelines for place pages so I've reverted the change. —Legoless (talk) 19:56, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Companion Rescue mission bug?Edit

I ended up having this place being selected as the place to rescue someone. When I entered, after wasting time, I got a mission failure. A restart, I went faster to see what's up- My target being attacked by a bandit. (Target was in the cell, attacked by bandit who has the key (The bandit is the one who sits near the treasure area.). Running Unofficial SSE patch. ~~Unpayedovertime~~

Noticed somethingEdit

They may not level in terms of bandits but the loot is to your level :)--Cantbeonforums (talk) 12:08, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

Key coded chest in Smithing areaEdit

I'm not sure when this was added. I'm running the Special Edition with all the free addons active, and there is a chest that isn't there in the vanilla game next to the table in the smithing area. It requires a key to open, and the Embershard Mine Key does NOT open it. I used the fishing spot, thinking that there might be a key you have to fish up to open the chest, but I'm not fishing any keys out. 67.180.205.30 04:32, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
