Attacking Guards BugEdit

Anyone else have a peculiar issue where attacking one of the Dawnstar Guards is not considered a crime, but attacking anyone else is? 98.180.20.170 22:54, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

That's really weird. Normally you only do not get a bounty for attacking someone if they are considered hostile by the game engine. That's why when you attack Legionnaires and Stormcloaks at military camps, you don't get a bounty; if you scan them with Detect Life in advance they show up as red, or hostile. So for some reason the Dawnstar guards you were attacking were red-coded would be my suspicion. How this came to happen I'm not sure. --Morrolan (talk) 19:09, 27 March 2013 (GMT)

Didn't happen for me. I slaughtered all the guards of Dawnstar before I took it for the Imperials, and I got a bounty for each one. The bounty was removed after I took Fort Dunstad, though.64.135.48.170 16:38, 6 May 2013 (GMT)

No guard in dawnstarEdit

From my previous saves I find that this problem is continuing for long time, but I just recently noticed it.

There is no guards patrolling in the Dawnstar town. There is none in the road, neither is one beside the gate of the White hall. In the guards barrack there is only one guard and another one in the Dawnstar Jail. But no one is patrolling in the streets.

However beside Loreius firm (or what is it, the cicero firm) the Pale Hold guard is there as usual.

I don't know whether this is a bug. Ofcourse I have the "collect bounty from Skald" thing sticked in journal. Is it somewhat related to it? I passed on many game-hours from a save when there was guards in Dawnstar. So loading a previous save is not an option anymore.

I don't know how to change it otherwise I would.

The infobox says that Dawnstar Guards are male, while the picture clearly shows a woman. And all Eastern Holds have female guards until they're conquered by the legion. 94.219.225.111 21:56, 26 March 2020 (GMT)
