- If you are on PC you could probably use console commands to spawn a new one, by normal means I don't think so though. RIM 16:54, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
No spider to be spied?Edit
I picked up the rod but there was no spider.
I have been in this area before (got a key to the museum from Calcemo when I did some quest for him early on and broke in). Hence, I am guessing that the spider attacked me back then and I killed it? Does that sound right?Chaosworrier (talk) 23:42, 10 May 2014 (GMT)

Spider's LimitsEdit
It might be useful to mention that the spider has limits. As noted, it can be killed. Secondly, there seems to be a range within the laboratory as to how far the spider will follow you. To get the spider to do so, I had to keep spraying the ground with the staff as I moved along. If I sprayed the ground too far away, the spider appeared to be out of range and did not follow.
