When you enter inside the auction house, he will finish off an auction:
- Severius Rutilus: "Going once. Going twice. Sold to the portly Ogrim. Thank you sir!"
- Severius Rutilus: "Now help yourselves to some refreshment while my associates collect the next items up for auction."
Speaking to him:
- "Always a pleasure to see a fellow mortal! These Daedric types….Well, they're all a bit creepy, eh?
But look at me, babbling away. Sorry—quick tongue, you know? Comes with the profession! Here for the auction? Nothing but first-rate goods here!" - I'm looking for something specific. The Ebony Blade.
- "The Ebony Blade? Well, that's uh…you know, not really my area of expertise. Daedric artifacts, I mean.
Then again, there is a small errand that needs doing. A personal matter, you see. You help me with that, and my memory might improve." - [Intimidate]I've got a blade of my own that might jog your memory.
- "Zzavfa! There's no need for that! I was … I was just joking!
A couple of Skaafin showed up not long ago. Said they had to stow it away in the Hexos gallery vault. In the Shambles. Just don't tell anyone I told you, all right?" - What is this errand, exactly?
- "Oh, it's nothing really. I need a crate picked up from the east side of town. Near the, uh…the Outlaws Refuge.
I'd go get it myself, but some scallywags might recognize me. The sort of scallywags that like breaking auctioneers' kneecaps."
Speaking to him again before you off on his errand:
- "You're still here? Look—from one mortal to another—I'd love to help. But my hands are tied!"
- You're still not going to tell me what you know about the Ebony Blade?
- "No! I'm just a lowly auctioneer. Sure, I hear things from time to time. But Daedric artifacts? That's the sort of thing we're all better off forgetting!
Then again, there is the errand I mentioned. That might rattle something loose." - Remind me about the errand.
- "I just need to a crate picked up from the east side of town. Near the, uh…Outlaws Refuge.
I'd go get it myself, but I owe some of those rascals quite a bit of gold. If I can't pay in coin, they'll take payment in broken bones, you see?"
Once you return back with his package:
- I completed your errand.
- "So you have! And what do you know, a memory popped into my head just then!
