I'm waiting!Edit

I'm on the 360 GOTY edition and I found a strange glitch. I was doing the quest as normal, except I was using the scroll duping glitch to get the items I needed, and when I gave Melisande the last ingredient, I went to Muck Valley Cavern to wait, but after waiting for 24 hours, Count Hassildor appeared next to me and said "I'm waiting!". The only conversation topic available was rumours, and he just walked out of the cave with the usual "Stop talking!" low disposition farewell afterwards. What might have caused this? 124.171.68.208 11:32, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Shoots of BloodgrassEdit

Hey im new to this website....how much is 2 shoots of Bloodgrass. i have 47 bloodgrasses and no Quest Update — Unsigned comment by 166.147.113.84 (talk) at 07:57 on 22 October 2011

You're not supposed to get a quest update when you have collected the Bloodgrass, nor will you receive a quest update when you deliver it to Melisande. The biggest problem with Bloodgrass is a game-breaking (or "game-changing") glitch; see this section for the dreaded Bloodgrass bug. --Krusty 08:58, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

Bloodgrass againEdit

Hi I just recently bought oblivion as I was too young when it came out. I am trying to get the cure for the count as I don't mind the cure. Just don't sleep or wait and if you have to wait just travel somewhere and back. Anyway the witch won't take my blood grass no matter how many I have. I even went and got fresh ones. Wat do I do— Unsigned comment by 202.146.15.12 (talk) at 22:41 on 24 October 2011

This sounds like the bloodgrass bug. See here and here for possible solutions. It's a serious bug, especially when playing on the PS3, and might involve some arduous methods. Wolok gro-Barok 22:53, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Is this Possible?Edit

As I read the Guide, I have the slight problem of the bloodgrass not being taken (I have Oblivion GOTYE On PS3) and I was thinking of copying the memory onto computer and finishing it that way, I'm Just hoping some-one can tell me if it'd work or not. Does it also matter that i have finished the main story line and have the 'reward'? (I do have 13 Blood grass) — Unsigned comment by LeeOmega (talkcontribs) at 13:09 on October 28, 2011

Hal Liurz Quest Bug?Edit

(moved from Help_talk:Contents). Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 09:21, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

i can't complete information at a price or cure for vampirism, i dont know what the deal is hul liurz just keeps saying wait right her the count will be with you shortly please be patient!! ive waited days and i still havent seen the count.. ive searched for him to hit him and make him follow me to the county hall, but he is nowhere to be found!! i need help166.183.68.136 06:22, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

He should be in his bedroom quarters, go up the stairs to the balcony that overlooks the main room and through the archway. Then turn left going up the stairs and through the door.RIM 10:39, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I've had the same problem, to do with speaking with Hal-Liurz after giving Melisande ingredients for the potion but before collecting the potions. The quest dialogue still triggers when speaking with Hal-Liurz but will not do so once you have collected the potions and returned. The count will have gone to the Chamber of the Lost and there is no way to find him short of using the floating paint brush trick. I had to use an older save and do all steps again - this solved the issue. 18:41, 24 December 2011 (UTC) — Unsigned comment by 78.86.3.76 (talk)
I solved this problem using the console: First you need stay near the Steward Hal-Liurz; Second open the console using ~ and type: "Prid 2EC35" and press enter, type "moveto player" and type enter; Now exit the console and talk with the count, this worked to me. — Unsigned comment by 187.26.144.154 (talk) at 07:24 on 10 July 2013‎

Bloodgrass alternative fixEdit

While searching the web for hours I've found an alternative solution to the vampire cure bug. This is what you need to do: 1- Save the game while inside Melisande's house. 2- Completly quit oblivion to the Playstation home. 3- Change the language to German for the whole PS3. 4- Start up Oblivion again and load up your last save game. 5- Talk to Melisade and now the bloodgrass option (You will know which option it is even though it's in German) should be highlighted again and she will accept them. (Remember you need two bloodgrass) 6- Save again, quit Oblivion again, change the language back to English and check it has worked. This worked for me the first time and when looking online to looks like it works for 50% of people. I live in UK, not sure if that matters. Good Luck 31.85.199.206 18:30, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Melisand don't remove my ingredientsEdit

How can I solve this? I am playing on xbox360 — Unsigned comment by 187.2.103.213 (talk) at 20:35 on 26 May 2012

finished the quest waiting on rewardEdit

ok so i gave the count the cure waited 1 week i can't find the count to complete the quest and the argonian lady doesn't go to get him, her and toutius go to the secret room together and hide in there for hours anyone else encountered this glitch? I use 360 69.35.184.60lore.pendragon

Do I have to drink?Edit

I would quite like to do this quest, but I don't want to cure my own vampirism in the process - counter-productive since being turned was the thing I wanted to do most. But I want to free his poor wife, so when you're given the potion to cure your own vampirism, do you have to drink it to finish the quest? Does the game do it for you? Or can I go home, shove it in a chest, and forget about it? — Unsigned comment by 72.66.91.188 (talk) at 05:52 on 16 May 2013

To my knowledge, you do not have to cure yourself. You can simply toss the potion aside and forget about it, and still claim the rewards for this quest. --written by Nocte Chat with me?Look at what I did! 08:57, 16 May 2013 (GMT)

One of the longest quests in Oblivion?Edit

...Not if you come to Melisande prepared, with the 5 empty Grand Soulgems, the herbs, and even the powerful Vampire ashes (you can kill him and get the ashes beforehand). Then it's only the matter of getting Argonian blood and waiting 24 hrs. I guess you could call it a very long and complicated quest if you're still in low very levels. — Unsigned comment by Wildespace (talkcontribs) at 22:25 on 31 May 2013

You have to add in the time spent gathering the souls gems, the herbs, the ashes etc into the amount of time required for the quest, which makes it very long. Doing it before hand or doing it afterwords doesn't change the fact that it still needs to be done, and it takes a long time to do it. Jeancey (talk) 22:36, 31 May 2013 (GMT)

Grand Soul Gem Bug?Edit

I brought 5 Grand Soul Gems to Melisande- one stolen, four legally owned. She took them no bother, but it turns out only the stolen one was taken, leaving me with four legally owned, empty Grand Soul Gems. I'm not complaining, just wanted to point it out! Non-GotY Work Around - How to save itemsEdit

Hi everyone!

While playing with this workaround for the Bloodgrass glitch, I discovered that if you put any SI items in a container in Cyrodiil, the item will be gone when you come back after using the workaround. This even happened in my own house. The only item I was really worried about was my Dawnfang from Xedilian (my favorite sword in the game so far!). I actually discovered that you can put a SI item into a safe container in the Shivering Isles, and when you come back it will still be there. I used the Duke of Mania's private quarters (the chest in the bedroom), since I chose the path of Mania while doing the SI main quest. I had to break into the private quarters, but even with all the Aureal around, I wasn't arrested, and the game didn't consider it stealing when I took my sword back. This should work if anyone has a weapon/item that they don't want to lose to this glitch workaround. Also, any SI armor (i.e. madness or amber) that you enchant yourself will also be okay, no matter what container you put it in. If you've had magic armor created by the smith, it will be gone - you MUST have done the enchantment yourself. (I had used a Transcendant Sigil Stone on my Perfect Madness armor; I'm assuming enchantments you do at the Mages' Guild will also work.)

Just wanted to give you guys this heads up!

Witch won't take my garlicEdit

I've given her the argonian blood and the vampire ashes, and the accepted my bloodgrass, but she won't take either of the other ingredients. Is there a way to fix this?

Hindaril's Quest Marker: The ReturnEdit

I killed Hindaril (heh, powerful vampire my arse...) and gave Melisandre the ashes. When I left her house to go fetch the garlic, I noticed I had a quest marker pointing towards Redwater Slough again. Only mod I have that could possibly affect the quest is the UOP. Can someone else reproduce this or is it just the engine exhibiting its infamous stupidity? lavacano201014 (yell at me here) 05:51, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

Doing this quest as a non-vampireEdit

Is it possible to complete this quest by starting it with console commands, without having to become a vampire? Will the quest work as normal or will it break because of the way it was started and because the player is not a vampire? I'm a completionist and would love to give this quest a try, without all the hassle of having to be infected first. --Sazandora123 (talk) 20:33, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
