Honorable Yngmaer Raven-Quill was a Nord scholar, author, and a prominent member of the Bards College. Within the college, she held the esteemed position of Historian Royal. Among her works was The Second Akaviri Invasion, a text dedicated to the description of the Second Akaviri Invasion of Kamal and how Nords, Argonians, and Dunmer defended the eastern Tamriel from Kamali forces.[1][2]
HistoryEdit
Little is known about Yngmaer Raven-Quill's early life. At some point, she became a member of the Bards College in Solitude, where she ascended through its ranks, ultimately achieving the esteemed position of Historian Royal.
A few years after the Second Akaviri Invasion of 2E 572,[3] she authored The Second Akaviri Invasion and addressed the High King of Western Skyrim, requesting funding for further investigation into the Kamali invasion. In her text, she displayed skepticism towards the Ebonheart Pact, referring to it as "a bizarre and ill-advised alliance with our ancient enemies." Given that her account raised more questions than answers, she proposed funding a Royal Committee of Inquiry to explore the grave implications of the matter. She offered to lead this committee, provided that the burden of such a task could be offset by an appropriate stipend. The response of High King Svargrim remained unknown.[1]
In 2E 580, she took part in the Convergence of Bards College Maestros held in Solitude, which occurred on the first Loredas of Hearthfire, alongside esteemed bards and professors. Headmaestro Catrelle Georick led the event. Alongside Yngmaer, the meeting included Maestros Hrofgen Well-Tuned, Thaezara Halftail, Taenival Llendu, Efnort, Viatrix Umbranox, Leiborn, Honorable Helgreir Lute-Voice, Bard Royal of Windhelm, representing Jorunn the Skald-King, Adjunct Professor Twains-the-Night, Master Maestro Alumnus Nel Farsong, and Assistant to the Headmaster and Scribe, Hartlin Treg. The gathering aimed to address concerns about the preservation and use of the college's historic instruments. However, tensions quickly arose among the attendees, leading to heated debates and even physical altercations. Proposals were made to either preserve the instruments in an honorarium or allow their continued use for educational purposes. During the meeting, she advocated for preserving the instruments rather than using them. Failing to come to an agreement, the meeting abruptly concluded, with the revelation that Master Maestro Nel Farsong had hidden away the instruments, leaving the attendees unsettled and divided.[2]
Ultimately, the issue was resolved when the instruments were discovered, and a new consensus was reached two years later, in 2E 582.[4] As of that time, she still held her position and was active on the College's grounds.[5]
